PSV Nickerie
PSV Nickerie (''Politie Sportvereniging'', ) is a Surinamese football club from Nieuw Nickerie, currently playing in the district league of the Nickerie Voetbal Bond. The team play their home games at the Nickerie Voetbal Stadion to a capacity of 3,400 people. History Founded on 25 September 1976, PSV Nickerie are not the first football club of a Surinamese police force to participate in the higher levels of football in Suriname. In 1924 S.P.S.V. (Surinaamse Politie Sport Vereniging) was founded in the capital city Paramaribo, and served as the football club of the local police. The club name was then changed to P.V.V. (Politie Voetbal Vereniging) on 6 February 1945. The police force in Nieuw Nickerie registered their sports club in 2000 and were able to clinch the Lidbondentoernooi only 6 years later, thus promoting to the SVB Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. Nickerie Voetbal Stadion
Asraf Peerkhan Stadion, formerly the Nickerie Voetbal Stadion, is a football stadium in Nieuw Nickerie, Nickerie, Suriname. The stadium has a capacity of 3,400 visitors. It is the home stadium of (NVB), the football union for the Nickerie District. The stadium was constructed in 1933. It used to be called Nickerie Voetbal Stadion. On 17 December 2017, the members of the NVB voted to change the name to Asraf Peerkhan Stadion in honour of Asraf Peerkhan. Members of the NVB include S.V. Santos, S.V. Prakash, and PSV Nickerie. Staatsolie donated US$198,000 in 2014 for the renovation of the football stadium and the neighbouring cricket grounds. The old wooden stands were replaced by concrete stands. The football field is also used by the local schools. On 17 March 2019, the first international competition was played in the Asraf Peerkhan Stadion. SVB Lidbondentoernooi
The SVB Lidbondentoernooi () is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The winner and runner-up of the tournament can then qualify for the Eerste Divisie, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. SVB Eerste Klasse
The SVB Tweede Divisie is third-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the SVB Eerste Divisie, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Derde Divisie.
