"PS5" is a song by American singer-songwriter Salem Ilese and Yeonjun and Taehyun from South Korean boy group Tomorrow X Together, featuring Norwegian DJ and record producer Alan Walker, It was released on February 23, 2022. The song is known for a vocal remix by Abdul Cisse about a Fortnite Battle Pass. An official remix was released 3 months later, with Cisse replacing TXT as the secondary vocalist and Walker's trap production. The song appeared on Salem's third studio extended play, ''Unsponsored Content''. Background The song was originally written in response to Salem's boyfriend and roommate being video game fanatics, and as soon as they moved to LA, they bought a PlayStation and Salem had a hard time keeping their attention and "Who do you take, me or PS5?" was the expression that came to mind, and she began to produce it. Salem Ilese Davern ( ''ˈseɪləm ee liː seɪ;'' born August 19, 1999) is an American singer and songwriter known for her singles " Mad at Disney", "PS5", and " Fake a Smile". She has also co-written songs for artists such as Bella Poarch, Demi Lovato, Illit, etc. In 2019, she released her debut EP, ''757'' and 2023, she released her debut album ''High Concept''. Early life Born on August 19, 1999, Salem Ilese Davern is originally from Mill Valley, California. Her songwriting career began at the age of 10 when she began classes with Bonnie Hayes (songwriter for Bonnie Raitt and Cher) in San Francisco. She also attended Berklee College of Music and spent two years majoring in Hayes' songwriting program. Career Ilese moved to Los Angeles, where she signed to Homemade Projects and released her debut EP, ''757'', in 2019.
