PNR Metro Commuter Line
The PNR Metro Commuter Line was a commuter rail line operated by the Philippine National Railways. It was first inaugurated as the Metro Manila Commuter Service in 1970, and originally served the North Main Line and the South Main Line, as well as the defunct Carmona and Guadalupe branch lines. Since then, it adopted several names such as Metrotrak and Metrotren, before adopting PNR Metro Commuter Line in the late 2000s. The line was also nicknamed the ''Orange Line'' due to its designation in the 1970s. The line had 36 stations serving Metro Manila and Laguna. It was divided into two sections which met at Tutuban station in Tondo, Manila. The Metro North Commuter section ran from Tutuban to Governor Pascual station in Malabon and was colored light green on the system map of PNR. PNR 8000 Class
The PNR 8000 class (also known as the INKA DMUs together with PNR 8100 class) is a diesel multiple unit (DMU) train operated by the Philippine National Railways (PNR) since 2019. Operational history Purchase PNR signed a contract worth (US$9.7 million) with the Indonesian firm Industri Kereta Api (PT INKA) on January 22, 2018, for the purchase of two sets of 3-car DMUs as part of the Reliability and Availability Program. The project was funded from the budget of the then-Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) as allocated in the 2015 General Appropriations Act. Delivery and commissioning PNR took delivery of the 8000 class trains on December 11, 2019. These were inaugurated at Dela Rosa station on December 16, entering revenue service on the same day. LRT Line 2 (Metro Manila)
The Light Rail Transit Line 2, also known as LRT Line 2, LRT-2, or Megatren, is a rapid transit line in Metro Manila in the Philippines owned and operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). The line generally runs in an east–west direction between in Manila and . The line is officially referred to as the Purple Line. Although commonly known as LRT-2, the line is a high capacity heavy rail line that uses large metro cars which are longer and wider than those used on the Philippine National Railways, PNR network and roughly the same size as those used on the MTR in Hong Kong, instead of the light rail vehicles used in earlier lines. Manila Railroad Company
The Manila Railroad Company (MRR) was a Filipino state-owned enterprise responsible for the management and operation of rail transport in the island of Luzon. It was originally established by an English people, Englishman named Edmund Sykes as the private Manila Railway Limited company, Co., Ltd. on June 1, 1887. British engineer Horace L. Higgins was then assigned as its first general manager in Manila. On July 7, 1906, a separate private entity named the Manila Railroad Company of New Jersey was established.
