PGL Travel Ltd is a provider of school activity courses and summer camps for children in the United Kingdom. Along with NST, European Study Tours and StudyLink it is a part of the HB Education group, owned by Midlothian Capital Partners. History PGL was established in 1957 by Peter Gordon Lawrence as PGL Voyages. In the 1960s and early 1970s, its market was young adults and based on three main activities – canoeing, sailing and pony trekking – with accommodation in tents. PGL moved into the school and group travel market and expanded in the 1980s, purchasing more properties, ranging from a mansion house in Perthshire to a converted farm in Oxfordshire. Holiday Camp
A holiday camp is a type of holiday accommodation, primarily in the United Kingdom, that encourages holidaymakers to stay within the site boundary, and provides entertainment and facilities for them throughout the day. Since the 1970s, the term has fallen out of favour with terms such as holiday park, resort, holiday village and holiday centre replacing it. A summer camp, also known as a sleepaway camp or residential camp, is a supervised overnight program for children conducted during the summer vacation from school in many countries. Children and adolescents who attend summer residential camps are known as . They are generally offered overnight accommodations for one or two weeks out in an outdoor natural campsite setting. Day camps, by contrast, offer the same types of experience in the outdoors but children return home each evening. Overview NST provides curriculum-focused tailor-made tours for primary schools, secondary schools and sixth form colleges, taking students to destinations across the UK, Europe and worldwide. Ardèche (river)
The Ardèche (; ) is a long river in south-central France, a right-bank tributary of the River Rhône. Its source is in the Massif Central, near the village of Astet. It flows into the Rhône near Pont-Saint-Esprit, north-west of Orange, France, Orange. The river gives its name to the French Departments of France, department of Ardèche. Pontins is a British company operating holiday parks in the UK, founded in 1946 by Fred Pontin. It was acquired by Britannia Hotels in 2011. Pontins specialises in offering half-board and self-catering holidays featuring entertainment at resorts, or "holiday parks", as they have branded them. Accommodation is usually in the form of chalet#modern international usage, chalets (which Pontins calls "apartments"). Caythorpe Court is a Grade II* listed former Hunting and shooting in the United Kingdom#Hunting lodge, hunting lodge situated about one mile to the east of Caythorpe, Lincolnshire, England. It was originally built in 1901 for Edgar Lubbock, a brewer and banker, to the designs of Sir Reginald Blomfield. In 1946 it became the Kesteven Agricultural College, which was renamed the Lincolnshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture from September 1980. Liddington is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Swindon, England. The village is about a mile beyond the south-east edge of Swindon's built-up area, close to junction 15 of the M4 motorway, which is approximately away via the B4192. History The parish has been an area of settlement since the earliest times. The ancient Ridgeway traverses the parish just north of the village and the Iron Age hill-fort known as Liddington Castle, which is a scheduled monument, overlooks the present-day village.
