The ''PFL 2'' mixed martial arts event for the 2024 season of the Professional Fighters League was held on April 12, 2024, at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. This marked the second regular-season event of the tournament and included fights in the Lightweight and Light Heavyweight divisions. Background The event marked the promotion's sixteenth visit to Las Vegas and first since PFL 3 (2023) in April 2023. A light heavyweight bout between former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Phil Davis and 2022 PFL light heavyweight winner Rob Wilkinson was expected to headline the event. However, Davis withdraw from the bout for unknown reason and was replaced by Tom Breese at the co-main event. Professional Fighters League
The Professional Fighters League (PFL) is an American mixed martial arts league founded by venture capitalist Donn Davis in 2017 and launched in 2018, following the acquisition and restructuring of the former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) promotion in 2017 by MMAX Investment Partners. It is the first major MMA organization in which individual athletes compete in a regular season, post-season and championship, rather than on a year-round basis. The PFL currently puts on fights across six weight-divisions: featherweight, women's lightweight, lightweight, welterweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight. The PFL's matches are held inside a 10-sided mixed martial arts cage known as the SmartCage, and adhere to the unified rules of mixed martial arts, with the exception of the prohibition of elbow strikes. Bellator Lightweight Champion
Bellator MMA (formerly known as "Bellator Fighting Championships") is an American mixed martial arts promotion, and the following is a history of its champions in each weight class. At the time of its inception in 2008, CEO Bjorn Rebney founded Bellator Fighting Championships as a tournament based organization. The inaugural champion for each weight class was determined by the winner of an eight-man tournament. All subsequent title challengers were required to first win an eight-man tournament in a specific weight class in order to earn the right to challenge that division's reigning champion. Adam Piccolotti (born August 23, 1988) is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in Bellator's Lightweight division. Background Born and raised in Half Moon Bay, California, Piccolotti competed in wrestling, baseball, and track and field at Half Moon Bay High School. This is a list of events and standings for the Professional Fighters League, a mixed martial arts organization based in the United States, for the 2021 season. PFL's 2021 roster included 60 fighters competing across six weight classes.
