The Women's PBA (WPBA) 3x3 is a Women's basketball, women's 3x3 (basketball), 3x3 basketball competition organized by the Philippine Basketball Association. History Following the promotion of the Philippines women's national basketball team, Philippine women's national team to Division I of the FIBA Asia Women's Championship due to their finish in the Division II tournament of the 2015 FIBA Asia Women's Championship, 2015 edition, the Philippine Basketball Association announced on September 24, 2015 that they would host a women's 3x3 tournament in the 2015–16 PBA season. The tournament was meant as a "test market" for women's basketball. 3x3 basketball (stylized as ''ƐX3'', pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. The TNT Tropang 5G is a professional basketball team currently owned by Smart Communications, a subsidiary of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) since 1990. The franchise began in 1990 when Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) acquired a PBA franchise. Under PCPPI, the franchise played under the names Pepsi and 7 Up. In 1996, the franchise came under the control of Pilipino Telephone Corporation (Piltel) and played under the name Mobiline. In 2001, the franchise was renamed Talk 'N Text after the operations of Piltel was absorbed by Smart Communications. Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3 was a professional 3x3 (basketball), 3-on-3 basketball list of basketball leagues, league in the Philippines and was organized by the country's national basketball federation, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP). It was formed in 2018 as a bid to get the Philippines to qualify for the 3x3 basketball event in the Summer Olympics. History In December 2018, Bounty Agro Ventures the company behind the roast chicken brand Chooks-to-Go, announced that it would be helping establish a 3-on-3 basketball league to be organized by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. This followed the inclusion of the 3x3 variant of basketball being included as a medal event in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. 16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and Industrial music, industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there were hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller (band), Painkiller, Last Exit (free jazz band), Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . PBA 3x3 was the men's 3x3 basketball, 3x3 basketball league of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The third conference of the 2023–24 PBA 3x3 season started on December 11, 2023 and ended on February 19, 2024. It will consist of six two-day legs and a grand final. The women's national 3x3 team of the Philippines represents the country in international 3x3 basketball matches and is controlled by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
