The PBA Leo Awards, formerly known as the PBA MVP Awards Night (1975–1992) and PBA Annual Awards (1993–2002) is an annual awards ceremony of the Philippine Basketball Association to honor the achievements of its players for the season. 2011–12 PBA Season
The 2011–12 PBA season was the 37th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. The season was formally opened on October 2, 2011 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, and finished on August 5, 2012. The season used three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup, or the traditional All-Filipino Conference. The mid season Commissioner's Cup featured unlimited height limit for imports. The Governors' Cup became the third and final conference for this season. 2023–24 PBA Season
The 2023–24 PBA season (or PBA season 48) was the 48th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Due to the participation of Philippine men's national basketball team in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2022 Asian Games, the PBA season started on November 5, 2023 and would only have two conferences, first being the Commissioner's Cup, followed by the season-ending Philippine Cup. Opening day was originally scheduled on October 15, but was moved three weeks past the original date to give the players who participated in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2022 Asian Games time to rest and recover. The 2022–23 PBA season or PBA season 47 was the 47th season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). For the first time in two seasons, the league returned to its regular three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup. The Commissioner's and Governors' Cups were the second and third conferences in this season. After the PBA adjusted its calendar again, the association's 47th season started on June 5, 2022, and ended on April 21, 2023. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose arena, sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Quezon City#Cubao, Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. The 2019 PBA season was the 44th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. The league continued to use the three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup. The Commissioner's Cup and the Governors' Cup are the second and third conferences in the upcoming season. Due to the major adjustments in the league calendar, the start of the league's 44th season was set to January 13, 2019. This was the first time since 2003 that the league opened their season in January or February. The PBA Leo Awards will be held during the opening ceremonies of the 2019 season while the 2018 PBA draft is set on December 16.
