PAF Headquarters
Air Headquarters (AHQ) is the Headquarters of Pakistan Air Force, located in Islamabad. Initially it was established at Peshawar on 15 August 1947. Later it was moved to Karachi on 1 June 1948 and back to Peshawar in 1960. In 1983 construction of Air headquarters was started at Islamabad after it was decided to have all the armed forces headquarters in the capital city. On 1 August 2005 the headquarters was moved from Chaklala, Rawalpindi to Islamabad. During the construction of the headquarter's building at Islamabad the headquarters directorates were housed at PAF base Chaklala. Naval Headquarters (Pakistan)
The Naval Headquarters, also known as the Navy NHQ, is the direct reporting and the command post of the Pakistan Navy, currently stationed in Islamabad, Pakistan. History In 1859, the British Royal Navy in India established its first command post in Manora Fort when Captain Thomas Maitland from HMS ''Wellesley'' succeeded in capturing most of the southern region of British India, which now is modern-day Pakistan. The General Headquarters (abbreviated Army GHQ) is the direct reporting and the command post of the Pakistan Army, located in the Chaklala at the vicinity of Rawalpindi, adjacent to the Joint Staff Headquarters (JS HQ). The Pakistan Air Force Academy Asghar Khan (PAFAA) is an accredited four-year military academy which provides undergraduate education to officer candidates of the Pakistan Armed Forces, primarily the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).Shaheen Foundation, "The Story of Pakistan Air Force(1988–1998)". Eligible and selected candidates from all over Pakistan are sent to the academy for flying training. PAF Air War College Institute is the Pakistan Air Forces academic establishment located at PAF Base Faisal providing training and education primarily to mid-career officers of the air force as well as a limited number of officers from Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army and allied forces.
