P. Lankesh
Palya Lankesh (8 March 1935 – 25 January 2000) was an Indian poet, fiction writer, playwright, translator, screenplay writer and journalist who wrote in Kannada. He was also an award-winning film director. Early life and career Lankesh was born in the small village of Konagavalli in Shimoga, Karnataka. After graduating with an honours degree in English from Central College at Bengaluru, Lankesh completed his Master of Arts degree in English from Maharaja's College, Mysore. His 1976 film '' Pallavi''—a cinematic narration, told from the female protagonist's point of view and based on his novel ''Biruku''—won the National Award for Best Direction (Swarna Kamal). Lankesh quit his job as an assistant professor in English at Bangalore University in 1980 and started Lankesh Patrike, the first Kannada tabloid, which influenced Kannada culture and politics. Shimoga
Shimoga, officially Shivamogga, is a city and the district headquarters of Shimoga district in the Karnataka state of India. The city lies on the banks of the Tunga River. Being the gateway for the hilly region of the Western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed the "Gateway of Malnad". The population of Shimoga city is 322,650 as per 2011 census. The city has been selected for the Smart Cities Mission ' standing in the fourth position in the state and 25th in the country as of November 2020. Maharaja's College, Mysore
Maharaja's College, Mysore (1889) constituent college to Mysore University. History The college finds its origins in the English-school known as "Maharaja Patashala" established by Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wadiyar III in 1833, at the request of a British officer, General Fraser. Subsequently, it became a High School, and in 1868, after the death of Maharaja was handed over to the Government of Mysore. The foundation stone of the present building was laid by Prince Albert Victor of Wales during his tour of India on 27 November 1889 in Mysore, during the reign Chamarajendra Wadiyar X. In 1879, the college was upgraded and became affiliated with University of Madras, it was upgraded to the first grade college in 1894. ''Hai Bangalore'' is a mass circulation weekly Kannada language tabloid published in Bangalore. It was founded by Ravi Belagere along with R. T. Vittalamurthy, MaSuri, & Jogi in 1995 which he published from his Padmanabhanagar office in Bengaluru. The columns like ''Love Lavike'', ''Bottom Item'' and ''Khaas Baat'' apart from ''Papigala Lokadalli'' which was about the underworld, created many admirers and his paper was the most-circulated newspaper over the five years. The tabloid articles include reports about scandals, scams, affairs, background politics, murders, crime to the public eye, although the accuracy of the reports is often questionable. Apart from these reports, it contains columns and articles about various fields like psychology, sports, science and cinema news. Sanjevani
''Sanjevani'' is a major Kannada afternoon newspaper has its headquarters in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was started on 10 December 1982, thus completing 25 years in 2007. Sanjevani was the first South Indian language newspaper to be put onto the World Wide Web in the year 1998, and was chosen "No. 1 Kannada Newspaper" by a Microsoft survey in 2001. As of 2010, ''Sanjevani'' is published in 10 different centers in the state (Bangalore, Mangalore, Hubli, Gulbarga, Bellary, Raichur, Mysore, Davengere, Tumkur and Shimoga), becoming the first Kannada daily to do so. Poorna Chandra Tejaswi
Kuppali Puttappa Poornachandra Tejaswi (8 September 1938 – 5 April 2007) was a prominent Indian writer and novelist in Kannada. He also worked as a photographer, publisher, painter, naturalist, and environmentalist. He made a great impression in the ''Navya'' ("new") period of Kannada literature and inaugurated the ''Bandaaya Saahitya'' genre of protest literature with his short-story collection ''Abachoorina Post Offisu''. He is the son of noted Kannada poet Kuvempu. At early stages of his writing career, Tejaswi wrote poems but later concentrated on short stories, novels and essays. Hindutva

Ram Manohar Lohia
Ram Manohar Lohia ( 23 March 1910 – 12 October 1967) was an Indian political activist of the Indian independence movement and a socialist politician. As a nationalist, he worked actively to protest against colonialism, raising awareness of the same. He founded multiple socialist political parties and later won elections to the Lok Sabha. Early life Ram Manohar Lohia was born on 23 March 1910 in a Marwari people, Marwari Bania (caste), Bania family at Akbarpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Akbarpur in modern-day Uttar Pradesh.
