P. K. Raja Sandow
Raja Sandow (born P. K. Nagalingam) was an Indian actor, film director and producer. He began his career as an actor in silent films and later became a prominent actor and director in Tamil language, Tamil and Hindi films of the 1930s. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of early Cinema of India, Indian cinema. Biography and career Raja Sandow was born in Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu into a mixed Marathi people, Marathi and Telugu people, Telugu family. He was trained as a gymnast and started his film career as a stunt actor in S.N. Patankar's National Film Company at Bombay. He was given the name "Raja Sandow" because of his physique (after strongman Eugen Sandow). His first lead role was in Patankar's ''Bhakta Bodana'' (1922), for which he was paid Rs. 101 as salary. Madabhushi Rangadorai (; 8 November 1937 – 23 April 2023), better known by his pen name Randor Guy (), was an Indian lawyer, columnist and film and legal historian associated with the English language newspaper ''The Hindu''. He was also the official editor of the weekly column "Blast from the Past" that appeared in ''The Hindu'' for many years; in this series Randor Guy wrote about not so well known details about the Tamil movies and the personalities (producers, directors, movie stars, lyricists, featured songs and box office collections), produced since the mid 1930s to late 1960s. Vaithamanithi Mudumbai Kothainayaki Ammal (1 December 1901 – 20 February 1960), familiarly known as Vai Mu Ko, was an Indian writer, novelist, and journalist who was the first woman to occupy the editorial board of a Tamil magazine. She wrote 115 books and published a monthly Tamil magazine, ''Jaganmohini''. Kothainayaki was the first female writer in Tamil to write a detective novel. She was interested in a variety of topics and excelled in fields like public speaking, social service, music composition, and fiction writing. ''Menaka'' is a 1935 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by P. K. Rajasandow and produced by Sri Shanmuganandha Talkie Company. The film stars T. K. Shanmugam and T. K. Bhagavathi with N. S. Krishnan (in his cinematic debut), S. V. Sahasranamam, K. R. Ramasamy and T. K. Muthusamy in supporting roles.
