P. J. Mustipher
Patrick Joseph Mustipher (born November 10, 1998) is an American professional football nose tackle for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Early life Mustipher grew up in Owings Mills, Maryland and attended McDonogh High School. In his high school career Mustipher was named a MaxPrep underclassmen All-American. Mustipher committed to play college football at Penn State over other schools such as Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. College career In Mustipher's freshman season he put 14 tackles, one going for a loss, and one forced fumble. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed on outstanding athletes in the United States who are considered to be among the best athletes in their respective sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports have multiple All-America teams, and list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. All-America teams are composed of outstanding U.S. amateur athletes. Sam Mustipher (born August 13, 1996) is an American professional football center for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He has also played for the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers. Early life Mustipher played football at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Olney, Maryland.
