''Oyate'' is a 2022 American documentary film directed by Brandon Jackson and Emil Benjamin. The film follows Indigenous activists and politicians as they shed light on the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is an annual non-fiction film festival held in Missoula, Montana each February. The event showcases documentary films from around the world. The festival first began in 2003 as a seven-day event. It is now a ten-day event. The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival is the largest cinema event in Montana. Ruth Anna Buffalo is an American people, American politician who served as a member of the North Dakota House of Representatives from the 27th District, from December 1, 2018 to December 1, 2022. She is the first Native American Democratic Party (United States), Democratic woman elected to the North Dakota Legislature. LaDonna Brave Bull Allard (June 8, 1956April 10, 2021), known as Tamakawastewin ("Good Earth Woman"), was a Native American Dakota and Lakota historian, genealogist, and a matriarch of the water protector movement. Tokata Iron Eyes
Tokata Iron Eyes (born August 13, 2003) is a Native American activist and member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe. Iron Eyes was a youth leader of " ReZpect our Water", a campaign against the proposed route of the Dakota Access Pipeline, and served on the board of a sustainable energy group called Indigenized Energy. Iron Eyes is also a singer and songwriter.
