Oxygen Thief
Oxygen Thief is an English solo musical project based in the city of Bristol. He has received national radio recognition and festival slots. Musical career Oxygen Thief began in 2006. He has supported Frank Turner, Mongol Horde, InMe, Johnny Foreigner, Chris T-T, and Tubelord and is a regular feature at Cheltenham's award-winning 2000 Trees Festival. He first appeared at the festival in 2008. He returned in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. He was featured in the BBC Introducing in Bristol preview of the 2010 festival. Bristol
Bristol () is a city, ceremonial county and unitary authority in England. Folk Punk
Folk punk (known in its early days as rogue folk) is a fusion of folk music and punk rock. It was popularized in the early 1980s by the Pogues in England, and by Violent Femmes in the United States. Folk punk achieved some mainstream success in that decade. In more recent years, its subgenres Celtic punk and Gypsy punk have experienced some commercial success. Xtra Mile Recordings
Xtra Mile Recordings are a British independent record label based in London, England. The label was founded in 2003 by Charlie Caplowe and they release an eclectic mix of genres with a focus on rock and folk. History The label first signed the artists Million Dead and Reuben in 2003 and subsequently released Frank Turner's solo albums after the split of Million Dead in 2005. While signed with Xtra Mile, Frank Turner has gone on to perform at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics and sell out Wembley Arena. On 8 August 2011 Xtra Mile were badly affected by the 2011 England riots, when the Sony Music warehouse that stored their records was set on fire. Since the label's inception it has continued to support and break new artists and bands. Xtra Mile has released numerous charting albums from acts including Skinny Lister and Will Varley. 2000 Trees Festival
2000trees festival is an independent music festival held from Wednesday to Sunday on the second week of July at Upcote Farm, Withington, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. It offers a diverse selection of more than 120 acts across five stages, plus comedy, a large selection of food traders, themed bars and a headphone disco on the two main stages every night of the festival. It also won the Grass Roots Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards 2010, 2013 and 2017 and the Best Medium-Sized UK Festival in 2018. 2000trees was started by six friends in 2007. Ben Marwood
Ben Marwood is an English singer-songwriter from Reading, Berkshire, England. As part of the contemporary London folk scene, Marwood has performed alongside Frank Turner, Chris T-T and Emily Barker amongst others. Musical career Playing solo shows from 2002, in 2008 Marwood released his debut mini-album, ''This Is Not What You Had Planned'' to some critical acclaim, followed by a three-way split album entitled ''Exclamation at Asterisk Hash'' which also featured friends Oxygen Thief and Jim Lockey. Both were released on Broken Tail Records, a small indie label run by Marwood. The debut album '' Outside There's A Curse'' was released on London-based Xtra Mile Recordings on 31 January 2011 to further critical acclaim, with ''Kerrang!'' awarding it a score of four out of a possible five Ks and ''Rocksound'' awarding an eight out of ten.
