Oxford Football Club was a Scottish association football club based in the Crosshill area of Glasgow. History The club claimed a foundation date of 1869, but this probably refers to the cricket club from which the football club emerged. The club's first recorded football matches did not take place until 1874, the very first being a 0–0 draw against Rangers on Glasgow Green, and 1873–74 was the club's first season of football, with a record of 2 wins, 6 draws, and 3 defeats, scoring 9 and conceding 8. The club competed in the Scottish Cup for seven seasons between 1874 and 1881. The first tie the club played was a 2–0 defeat at Rangers in 1874–75, the first goal coming when McNeil "sent both the Oxford goalkeeper 'Kinleyand the ball underneath the tape". Queen's Park, Glasgow
Queen's Park (, ) is a park situated on the south side of the city of Glasgow, Scotland, between Strathbungo, Shawlands, Battlefield, Mount Florida, and Crosshill. The park lies about south of the city centre, and gives its name to a nearby railway station and several other local businesses and institutions, including the football team Queen's Park FC. History The lands of the park were part of the lands of Langside, belonging to the Maxwells of Pollok. During the 17th Century, the western part was sold to form Camphill Farm. This was sold again in 1799 to Glasgow manufacturer Robert Thomson who built , which still stands at the edge of the park grounds. His son purchased the adjacent Pathhead Farm in 1834, and the merged land was sold by grandson Neale Thomson to Glasgow Corporation in 1857 for the purpose of developing Glasgow's third park. The 1881–82 Scottish Cup – officially the Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup – was the ninth season of Scotland's most prestigious Association football, football knockout competition. A total of 147 teams entered the competition, five more than the previous record set in 1879–80 Scottish Cup, 1879–80. For the second season in a row, defending champions Queen's Park F.C., Queen's Park played Dumbarton F.C., Dumbarton in the final.
