Owen Farrell
Owen Andrew Farrell (born Owen Andrew O'Loughlin, 24 September 1991) is an English professional rugby union player who plays as a Fly-half (rugby union), fly-half for Premiership Rugby club Saracens F.C., Saracens. He was the England captain from 2018 to 2023. Although fly-half is his preferred position, he frequently played at Centre (rugby union), inside centre at test level. He has spent the majority of his club career with Saracens. He spent a season on loan with Bedford Blues and played the 2024/25 season with French side Racing 92. He is known for his goal kicking prowess. Making his international debut in 2012, Farrell has represented England internationally. The England national under-18 rugby union team is the under-18 team of England in the sport of rugby union. History Under-18 became a recognised age-grade in European rugby in 2004. In June 2018, coach John Fletcher and Peter Walton left the backroom staff having joined the U18 set-up since 2008 from Newcastle Falcons. European Championship England is, apart from France and Ireland, the only other team in the European Under-18 Rugby Union Championship to have won the championship, having done so in 2005 and 2006. The Wigan Warriors is an English professional rugby league club based in Wigan, Greater Manchester. The club competes in the Super League, the top tier of the British rugby league system. Premiership Rugby, officially known as Gallagher Premiership Rugby, or the Gallagher Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is an English professional rugby union competition, consisting of 10 clubs, and is the top division of the English rugby union system. The 2023 Rugby World Cup () was the tenth men's Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for national rugby union teams. It took place in France from 8 September to 28 October 2023 in nine venues across the country. The opening game and 2023 Rugby World Cup final, final took place at the Stade de France, north of Paris. The tournament was held in the bicentenary year of the purported invention of the sport by William Webb Ellis. The tournament was scheduled to last six weeks, but in February 2021 World Rugby added a week to provide additional rest days for player welfare. This meant that teams had a minimum of five days' rest for all matches. 2019 Rugby World Cup Squads
The 2019 Rugby World Cup was an international rugby union tournament which was held in Japan from 20 September until 2 November 2019. Twenty national teams competed, and each brought a 31-man squad containing no regulated number of players per-position to the tournament. The tournament was administered by World Rugby, to whom each team submitted their finalised squad by 8 September 2019. A player may be replaced for medical or compassionate reasons, but would be unable to return to the squad. Any replacement player has an enforced stand-down period of 48 hours before they can take the field. Players marked (c) were named as captain for their national squad.
