"Overcome" is a song recorded by English alternative rock band Nothing but Thieves from their fourth studio album, ''Dead Club City'' (2023). The song was released by Sony UK on 10 May 2023, as the second single off the album. It peaked at number six on the Dutch Top 40, number 25 on the ''Billboard'' Alternative Airplay chart, number 36 on the UK Singles Sales Chart and number 44 in the Ultratop 50. It was later voted as Record of the Year 2023 by Radio X listeners and is currently the longest lasting song on Dutch radio station NPO 3FM's "De Verlanglijst" chart, being voted for by listeners for over a year. Nothing But Thieves
Nothing but Thieves are an English Rock music, rock band, formed in 2012 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. In 2014, they signed to RCA Records and a year later in October 2015, they released their Nothing but Thieves (album), self-titled debut album. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. UK Singles Sales Chart
The UK Singles Sales Chart is a weekly record chart compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the British record industry. The UK Singles Sales Chart differs from the UK Singles Chart (also known as the Official Singles Chart) in that it counts "physical" sales only (including downloads), whereas the Official Chart also counts streaming. Since 10 July 2015, the chart week has run from Friday to Thursday with the chart-date given as the following Thursday; prior to this, the chart week ran from Sunday to Saturday, with the chart date given as the following Saturday. UK Singles Downloads Chart
The UK Singles Downloads Chart is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. Since July 2015, the chart week runs from Friday to Thursday, with the chart date given as the following Thursday. The main chart contains the Top 200 downloads (which are published in ''UKChartsPlus''), with the top 100 published on the OCC website. The chart only uses sales of ''permanent digital downloads'', that is single-download tracks on non-subscription online music stores. Some downloading services offer a monthly fee plan where generally an unlimited number of tracks can be downloaded within a month for a certain price. ''Dead Club City'' is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band Nothing but Thieves, released on 30 June 2023 through Sony Music UK. It was preceded by the singles "Welcome to the DCC", " Overcome", "Keeping You Around" and "Tomorrow is Closed". It is the band's first album to chart at number one on the OCC's UK Albums Chart. Background The band stated that the album's "overall narrative is formed by different characters and story arcs from in and around the city", and questioned "Is it a shared consciousness?
