Dead Club City
''Dead Club City'' is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band Nothing but Thieves, released on 30 June 2023 through Sony Music UK. It was preceded by the singles "Welcome to the DCC", " Overcome", "Keeping You Around" and "Tomorrow is Closed". It is the band's first album to chart at number one on the OCC's UK Albums Chart. Background The band stated that the album's "overall narrative is formed by different characters and story arcs from in and around the city", and questioned "Is it a shared consciousness? Another planet? The next corporate wasteland? Heaven? Or somewhere else?" The album will also "introduce fresh elements in their rock-edged sound", with lead single "Welcome to the DCC" called "dance-enthused". To work on the album in a different way, the band rented a country house in Essex for most of the recording process. They started working on the album on 28 August 2022. Nothing but Thieves are an English Rock music, rock band, formed in 2012 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist and keyboardist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. In 2014, they signed to RCA Records and a year later in October 2015, they released their Nothing but Thieves (album), self-titled debut album. Mike Crossey
Mike Crossey (born 1979) is a Northern Irish record producer, songwriter, and mixing engineer. He produced the debut single by Arctic Monkeys, collaborating with them over two albums. He is known for his ongoing relationship with The 1975, in addition to productions with Jeremy Zucker, Twenty One Pilots, Walk the Moon, LANY, LAUV, Foals, Keane, Jake Bugg, The Gaslight Anthem, MUNA, Wolf Alice, Nothing But Thieves and Yungblud. Career Crossey started his career as a promoter of punk shows in Belfast before moving to Liverpool to complete his training at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He remained in Liverpool, operating out of the Motor Museum, until 2012. Crossey credited the studio's owner, OMD frontman Andy McCluskey, with being a "great mentor". Matt Johnson (keyboardist)
Matt Johnson (born 3 February 1969) is a British keyboardist who plays for the funk and jazz band Jamiroquai. Biography Johnson was aged one and a half when he started playing the piano at his family home. "My dad was a musician, so there was always music playing in the house; but I remember being taught by a scary old piano teacher, who must have been over 90 years old". His influences range from Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis through to Squarepusher. Torre Florim
De Staat () is a Dutch alternative rock band, formed in Nijmegen in 2006. Their name translates to "The State". In May 2016, the band supported Muse in their Drones World Tour in Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Spain. Biography De Staat was started as a one-man project by lead singer, Torre Florim, who later brought the band together. Their first demo was recorded in Florim's apartment in 2007. James Lawrence Irvin is an English singer, songwriter, music journalist and podcast host.
