Ovation (award)
Ovation is a Russian national music award in the field of entertainment and popular music. Along with ZD Awards, it is one of the major mainstream music awards in Russia, with other awards in the Russian entertainment industry, such as Nika Award. The Ovation Award covers all genres, including classical music, folk music, Rock music, rock and pop music, jazz, and Musical theatre, musical theater. The first Ovation ceremony was held in 1992, initiated by businessman Grigory Kuznetsov. The awards can be compared to American Grammy Awards and British Brit Awards. Among the award winners are such Pop icon, pop icons of Russia and Eastern Europe as Alla Pugacheva and Valery Leontiev, Valery Leontyev, as well as famous rock performers such as Bi-2 and Andrey Makarevich. In 2002, Vitas was named best singer, and the Hit song, hit of the year was the single “Not Gonna Get Us” by T.A.T.u., t.A.T.u. Ovation Awards
The Ovation Awards were a Southern California award for excellence in theatre, established in 1989. They were given out by the non-profit arts service organization LA Stage Alliance and are the only peer-judged theatre awards in Los Angeles. Winners were selected by a voting committee of Los Angeles–area theater professionals who are selected through an application process every year. The Ovation Awards ceremony was held at different theatres throughout the Los Angeles area, including the Ahmanson Theatre and the Orpheum Theatre (Los Angeles), Orpheum Theatre. Aleksandra Nikolayevna Pakhmutova ( ; born 9 November 1929) is a Soviet and Russian composer. She has remained one of the best-known figures in Soviet and later Russian popular music since she first achieved fame in her homeland in the 1960s. Makhmud Ḣelasoltiyn voḣ Esambayev (15 July 19247 January 2000) was a Soviet and Chechen dancer, ballet master, choreographer and actor. Makhmud was regarded as one of the most famous dancers of the Soviet Union. People's Artist of the USSR (1974) and Hero of Socialist Labour (1984). Edita Stanislavovna Piekha (born 31 July 1937) is a Soviet and Russian singer and actress of Polish descent. The peak of her popularity in the countries of the former USSR was in the 1960s. Her most famous song is “Our Neighbor”. (Наш сосед) She was given the title Honorary Citizen of St. Petersburg. In addition to Russia and Eastern European countries, she also performed in East Germany and other countries. Her first performance aboard was in Wrocław, Poland in 1966.
