''Our Emperor'' () is a 1933 Austria period comedy film directed by Jacob Fleck and Luise Fleck and starring Karl Ehmann, Alfred Neugebauer and Susi Lanner.Von Dassanowsky p.207 It takes place during the reign of Franz Joseph I of Austria. Location shooting took place in Bad Ischl and at the Burgtheater and Lainzer Tiergarten in Vienna. Jacob Fleck
Jacob Fleck (8 November 1881 in Vienna as Jacob Julius Fleck – 19 September 1953, also in Vienna) was an Austrian film director, screenwriter, film producer and cameraman. He is noted for his long-standing professional partnership with his wife Luise Fleck who co-directed his films with him. Biography In 1910, together with Anton Kolm, Kolm's wife Luise (who later married Fleck), and her brother Claudius Veltée, Jacob Fleck established the film production company ''Erste Österreichische Kinofilms-Industrie'' in Wien-Alsergrund. The company changed its name only a year later to ''Wiener Kunstfilm-Industrie'', in which Fleck worked partly as a cameraman, but principally as a producer and director together with Luise Kolm in making numerous films. Anton Kolm died in 1922. In 1923 Fleck moved with Luise Kolm to Berlin, where they married in 1924: Luise was known from then on as Luise Fleck. Johanna Jarno-Niese (10 November 1875 in Vienna – 4 April 1934; née Johanna Niese), commonly known as Hansi Niese, was an Austrian actress and operetta singer (soprano). Career Hansi Niese made her debut on stage for the first time in 1886 in a bar in Speising, near Vienna. At the age of 18 in 1891, she appeared in the South Moravian town of Znojmo at the local theater. In her youth, Niese worked alongside actress Berta Türk. Her success story began in 1893 at the Vienna Raimund Theater, where she appeared in the series for six years as a soubrette. In 1899, she moved to the theater an der Josefstadt. Soon after, she married Josef Jarno, the director of this theater. Not only at the various stages of Vienna, but also on tour in Berlin Niese has starred in numerous plays by including Ludwig Anzengruber, Gerhart Hauptmann, Ferenc Molnár, Johann Nestroy, Ferdinand Raimund and Arthur Schnitzler. John Mylong
John Mylong (born Adolf Heinrich Münz; September 27, 1892 – September 8, 1975), also known as Jack Mylong-Münz, was an Austrian actor, who later settled in the United States. Biography Mylong was born Adolf Heinrich Münz, to Jewish parents in Velyki Mosty, Lviv Oblast, Ukraine, then governed as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He studied acting with Max Reinhardt in Vienna, and began his stage and film acting career in 1921. He appeared in many Austrian and German silent films under the name Jack Mylong-Münz. In 1934, following the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany, Mylong emigrated to the United States. There, he resumed his acting career, appearing in some 171 film and television roles between then and 1967. He returned to Germany once, in 1951, to appear in the Curt Goetz comedy '' The House in Montevideo.'' Mylong died in Beverly Hills, California in 1975, at the age of 82.
