The Honorable Congress of the State of Sonora ( es, Honorable Congreso del Estado de Sonora) is the legislative branch of the government of the State of Sonora. The Congress is the governmental deliberative body of Sonora, which is equal to, and independent of, the executive. The Congress is unicameral and consists of 33 deputies. 21 deputies are elected on a first-past-the-post basis, one for each district in which the entity is divided, while 12 are elected through a system of proportional representation. Guaymas, Sonora
Guaymas () is a city in Guaymas Municipality, in the southwest part of the state of Sonora, in northwestern Mexico. The city is south of the state capital of Hermosillo, and from the U.S. border. The municipality is located on the Gulf of California and the western edge of the Sonoran Desert and has a hot, dry climate and of beaches. The Institutional Revolutionary Party ( es, Partido Revolucionario Institucional, ; abbr.
