Blanche Ostertag
Blanche Adele Ostertag (August 27, 1872 – November 13, 1915) was an American decorative artist. She is best remembered for her decorative painting and delight in children as subjects. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she first studied for one month at the St. Louis Museum of Fine Arts in 1892 and then moved to Paris. At the Académie Julian, she was a pupil of Rodolphe Julian, Jean-Paul Laurens, Constant, and also studied with Raphael Collin, Léon-Augustin Lhermitte, and Delance. Her awards include the Revell prize, for school room decoration, St. Louis. Her work includes mural decorations: "Sailing of the Claremont," New Amsterdam Theatre, New York; "Old Indian Fort," Northwestern Railway Station, Green Bay, Wisconsin; "Everlasting Covenant" (5 panels), "The Songs of David" (3 panels), and mosaics, Husser House, Chicago; Illustrations for "Old Songs for Young America." Robert "Bob" Ostertag (born April 19, 1957) is an American musician, writer, and political activist based in San Francisco. He has published seven books, one feature film, a DVD, twenty-six albums, and collaborated with numerous musicians. Musically, he is known for his politically charged compositions created from found sound (''Sooner or Later'', ''All the Rage (Kronos Quartet/Bob Ostertag album), All the Rage''), his work with synthesizers over 45 years (from ''Bob Ostertag Plays the Serge 1978-1983'' to ''Wish You Were Here'' in 2016), and his many collaborations (Anthony Braxton, John Zorn, Fred Frith, Justin Vivian Bond, Shelley Hirsch, and Roscoe Mitchell to name just a few). Gregory Donovan Ostertag (born March 6, 1973) is an American former professional basketball player. He spent most of his career with the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks. High school career Ostertag starred at Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Molly Knox Ostertag (born October 28, 1991) is an American cartoonist and writer. Her work includes the animated series ''The Owl House'', webcomic '' Strong Female Protagonist'', the middle grade graphic novel series (''The Witch Boy'', ''The Hidden Witch'', and ''The Midwinter Witch''), and on the series '' Tales of the Night Watchman''. Robert Von Ostertag
Robert von Ostertag (March 24, 1864 – October 7, 1940) was a German veterinarian who was a native of Schwäbisch Gmünd. He studied medicine in Berlin and veterinary medicine in Stuttgart, afterwards becoming a professor of hygiene at Tierärztliche Hochschule Stuttgart (1891–1892) and at the College of Veterinary Medicine in Berlin (1892–1907). In 1907 he became head of the veterinary department in the Reich Health Office in Berlin. In 1910 he traveled to German Southwest Africa in order to study diseases of sheep, and in 1913 he investigated rinderpest in German East Africa. In 1920 he became head of veterinary services in Germany. In the 1890s, Ostertag started a rigorous program of meat inspection in Berlin, and he was referred to as the "Father of Veterinary Meat Inspection" in Germany.
