Osjan (originally Ossian) is a Polish music bandPolityka, Issues 47-53, Wydawn. Prasowe "Polityka", 2004(google books, in Polish)/ref> active from 1970 until 2012. ''Osjan'' was formed in 1971 by Jacek Ostaszewski and Marek Jackowski (who later moved to ''Maanam'' and was a native of poland). Over the years, the musicians performing with ''Osjan'' often changed. The members of the group included Ostaszewski, Wojciech Waglewski, Milo Kurtis, Radosław Nowakowski, Jorgos Skolias, Tomasz Hołuj, and Zygmunt Kaczmarski. Wojciech Waglewski
Wojciech Antoni Waglewski (born 21 April 1953 in Nowy Sącz) is a Polish musician; singer, guitarist, composer, arranger and producer, a member of Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry and Polish Film Academy. He has played in bands such as Voo Voo, Morawski Waglewski Nowicki Hołdys, Osjan and Bemibem, and also performs as a solo artist. As of 2013, he has been nominated to twenty-three Fryderyk awards (Polish equivalent of Grammy) and won five times. In 2010 and 2011, he was the art director of concert tour Męskie Granie. He is the son of Polish journalist Jerzy Waglewski. Wojciech is married to Grażyna, the couple has two sons (both are hip-hop musicians): Fisz (Bartosz, born 1978) and Emade (Piotr, born 1981). Apostolis Anthimos (born 25 September 1954 in Siemianowice Śląskie) is a Polish jazz / rock oriented guitarist, drummer and keyboard player. His parents are Greeks. He is a member of the Polish progressive rock band SBB, and has had a long individual career both as band leader and as sideman. He has co-operated with Czesław Niemen, Tomasz Stańko, George Dalaras, Vangelis Katsoulis, and also a number of bands, including Krzak, Dżem and Osjan. Donald Eugene Cherry (November 18, 1936 – October 19, 1995) was an American jazz trumpeter. Cherry had a long association with free jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman, which began in the late 1950s. He also performed alongside musicians such as John Coltrane, Charlie Haden, Sun Ra, Ed Blackwell, the New York Contemporary Five, and Albert Ayler. In the 1970s, Cherry became a pioneer in world fusion music, drawing on traditional African, Middle Eastern, and Hindustani music. He was a member of the ECM group Codona, along with percussionist Naná Vasconcelos and sitar and tabla player Collin Walcott. Tomasz Ludwik Stańko (11 July 1942 – 29 July 2018) was a Polish trumpeter and composer. Stańko was associated with free jazz and the avant-garde. In 1962, Tomasz Stańko formed his first band, the Jazz Darings, with saxophonist Janusz Muniak, pianist Adam Makowicz, bassist Jacek Ostaszewski, drummer Wiktor Perelmuter. Inspired by Ornette Coleman and the innovations of John Coltrane, Miles Davis and George Russell, the group is often cited by music historians as the first European group to play free jazz. In his later years, he collaborated with pianist Krzysztof Komeda on Komeda's album '' Astigmatic'', recorded in late 1965. In 1968, Stańko formed a quintet whose members were Janusz Muniak (tenor and soprano saxophones, flute), Zbigniew Seifert (alto sax and violin), Bronisław Suchanek (bass), Janusz Stefański (drums, percussion).
