Marco Osio
Marco Osio (born 13 January 1966 in Ancona) is an Italian former football midfielder, and former manager of Ancona 1905. Career As player Osio started his playing career in the Torino youth system. In 1986, he moved at Empoli, and Parma in 1987. In his stay at Parma, he became one of the fan favourites, earning the nickname "Il Sindaco" (The Mayor) by the local supporters, and he was a key player for the team that climbed the Italian football divisions, up from Serie C1 to the top division, Serie A. During his time with the club, he enjoyed both domestic and European success, winning the Coppa Italia, and the European Cup Winners' Cup, also participating in the UEFA Cup. In 1993, after six seasons with Parma, he returned to Torino for two seasons before an unexpected move to Brazilian club Palmeiras, which makes him one of the very few Italian footballers to have ever played in the South-American country; he won the Paulista Championship with the club in 1996, despite having ... Rancho Punta de los Reyes Sobrante was a Mexican land grant in present-day western Marin County, California, given by Governor Manuel Micheltorena in 1843 to Antonio Maria Osio. The name means "Leftover of Point Reyes Ranch". It comprised much of what is now western Marin County and the Point Reyes National Seashore. History Antonio Maria Osio Antonio Maria Osio (1800–1878) was born in and died in Mexico. Osio married Dolores Argüello, sister of Luis Antonio Argüello, the first governor of California. In 1838, Osio settled in Monterey. In 1839, Governor Alvarado granted Osio, Angel Island, on the condition that Osio would set aside part of the island for a fort. However, Osio never took up residence there. In 1839, Osio bought Rancho Punta de los Reyes from Joseph Snook (1798–1848), and sought about acquiring the adjacent eleven square league Rancho Punta de los Reyes Sobrante, which Governor Micheltorena granted him in 1843. Osio Sopra ( Bergamasque: ) is a '' comune'' (municipality) of 5,306 inhabitants in the province of Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. The history of Osio Sopra has significant links to Osio Sotto's. Early settlements can be traced to Ancient Roman times, when an important communication road linked Milan to Bergamo passing through the bridge 'Ponte Corvo' in the Marne locality. In Bergamo, the last section of this road was in-fact named 'via Osio', highlighting the importance of the location. During those times, Osio underwent an important process of centuriation, with which a first development of the 'pagus' took place; the name 'Osio' originates from the Patrician 'gens Otia' (or gens Oxia). Among Osio Sopra's landmarks, the medieval Catholic church of San Zenone features good quality paintings of Lombard artists.
