Oscar Onley
Oscar Edgar Onley (born 13 October 2002) is a Scottish cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Early life Onley grew up in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. He attended Longridge Towers School and Kelso High School. He started cycling at the age of ten and joined his local club, the Kelso Wheelers. However, his preferred sport as a child was cross-country running. He began to take cycling more seriously after turning 18 and joining the junior ranks; Onley has stated that he simply preferred the training for cycling compared to running. Career In 2019, Onley started a two-year stint with the Van Rysel-AG2R La Mondiale development team, though his 2020 season was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. He then signed with for the start of 2021. Though he did not achieve any significant results in his initial season with the squad, his 2022 season was very strong. Kelso, Scottish Borders
Kelso is a market town in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland. Within the boundaries of the Shires of Scotland, historic county of Roxburghshire, it lies where the rivers River Tweed, Tweed and River Teviot, Teviot have their confluence. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Aubel–Thimister–Stavelot is a junior (ages 17–18) multi-day cycling race held annually in Belgium. It was part of the UCI Junior World Cup from 2003 to 2007. The 2024 UCI Road World Championships was the 97th edition of the UCI Road World Championships, the annual world championships for road bicycle racing. Young Rider Classification In The Tour De France
The young rider classification is a secondary competition in the Tour de France, that started in 1975. Excluding the years 1989 to 1999, the leader of the young rider classification wears a white jersey (). It goes to whichever eligible rider has the best time in the general classification. The requirements to be eligible for the young rider classification have changed over the years but have always been such that experienced cyclists were not eligible, sometimes by excluding cyclists over a certain age, cyclists who had entered the Tour de France before, or cyclists who had been professional for more than two years.
