Oscar Easley Block
Oscar Easley Block, also known as Historic City Hall, is a prominent building that was one of the early founding buildings in San Clemente, California, originally built to house offices and a bank. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Orange County, California in 1983. History Construction Two years after the initial grading was completed by Oscar Easley's street grading crew, Easley acquired the property across the street from Ole Hansen (politician), Ole Hansen's real estate offices which were selling lots in the newly created city of San Clemente, California, San Clemente. Easley was also responsible for laying the foundation for Ole Hansen's beachfront home Casa Romantica. In March 1929, a building permit was pulled to construct a two-story office building. The Spanish Colonial Revival architecture (), often known simply as Spanish Revival, is a term used to encompass a number of revivalist architectural styles based in both Spanish colonial architecture and Spanish architecture in general. These styles flourished throughout the Americas, especially in former Spanish colonies, from California to Argentina. In the United States, the earliest use of this style was in Florida, Texas, and California. Ole Hansen (17 December 1855–26 June 1928) was a Denmark, Danish politician, farmer and Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries (Denmark), Minister for Agriculture in the Cabinet of Deuntzer and the Cabinet of J.C. Christensen I as a member of the Venstre Reform Party. He was the first farmer to become a Danish minister. He was a member of Folketinget from 1890 to 1908 and of the Landsting (Denmark), Landsting from 1914 to 1928. In 1922 he became the president of Landstinget until 1928. Casa Romantica, officially known as the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, is a historic building in San Clemente, California. It was the home of Ole Hanson who co-founded the city of San Clemente. Casa Romantica was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 27, 1991.
