Osa Odighizuwa
Osawaru Odighizuwa ( ; born August 13, 1998) is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the UCLA Bruins, earning first-team List of All-Pac-12 Conference football teams, all-conference honors in the Pac-12 Conference, Pac-12. He was selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. Early life Odighizuwa attended David Douglas High School. He was a two-time defensive player of the year and received PrepStar All-West honors as a senior. He was a three star recruit coming out of high school and committed to play college at the University of California, Los Angeles on May 5, 2015. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that typically lines up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the Guard (American football), offensive guards; however, he may also line up opposite one of the offensive Tackle (gridiron football position), tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university.
