Os Mutantes
Os Mutantes (, ''The Mutants'') are an influential Brazilian rock band that were linked with the Tropicália movement, a dissident musical movement during the Brazilian dictatorship of the late 1960s. The band is considered to be one of the main groups of Brazilian rock. Heavily influenced by Anglo-American psychedelic pop, they bridged Brazilian sensibilities together with studio trickery, feedback, distortion, and musique concrète. They released their now-acclaimed self-titled debut album in 1968. Os Mutantes debuted their work in 1966, as a trio, when they presented themselves in the program ''O Pequeno Mundo de Ronnie Von'' of TV Record. The group was christened ''Mutantes'' by Ronnie Von himself, right before their first TV appearance. Ani Cordero (born 1974) is a Puerto Rican vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and songwriter. Biography Cordero was born Ana Marieli Cordero Garcia in Boston, Massachusetts. Since 1999, she has resided in Brooklyn, New York. Cordero's work in music began in her teen years in Atlanta, Georgia. She has performed as a solo artist as well as a number of bands, including Cordero, her bilingual rock group with husband and drummer Chris Verene. Tecnicolor
''Tecnicolor'' would have been the fourth album by the Brazilian band Os Mutantes. The album was intended to be their introduction in the English-speaking world and included English versions of songs from the albums '' Os Mutantes'' and '' A Divina Comédia ou Ando Meio Desligado'', re-recordings in Portuguese and French, and several new songs. It was recorded in Paris, in 1970, but release only 30 years later. Speculations have been raised that the tapes were lost until writer Carlos Calado, working on the band's biography, uncovered them. An alternative explanation is that the band was unsatisfied with many of the recordings, and abandoned the project to return to Brazil. Stefan Wul was the '' nom de plume'' of the French science fiction writer Pierre Pairault (27 March 1922 – 26 November 2003), born in Paris. Biography He was a dental surgeon, but science fiction was his real passion. Most of his books reflect that, showing a deep knowledge of scientific data. Pairault retired from dental surgery in 1989, but remained active in the French science fiction scene. He published eleven novels between 1956 and 1959 and a twelfth in 1977. One of them, ''Le Temple du Passé'' (1957), was translated into English, as ''The Temple of the Past'' in 1973. Ronaldo Nogueira (born July 17, 1944), better known as Ronnie Von, is a Brazilian singer, businessman and TV show host. Ronnie became known in the 1960s associated with Brazilian rock, and between 2004 until 2019 presents currently between Mondays and Fridays the TV night show ''Todo Seu'' ( Portuguese for "''All Yours''") on TV Gazeta. ''Os Mutantes'' (, "the mutants") is the debut album by the Brazilian tropicalia band Os Mutantes. It was originally released in 1968 by Polydor and blends traditional Brazilian music styles with American and British psychedelia. The album includes a cover of The Mamas & The Papas' " Once Was a Time I Thought", translated into "Tempo no Tempo", and a cover of "Le premier bonheur du jour", previously recorded by Françoise Hardy. It was reissued in 1999 on Omplatten Records and again in 2006 by Omplatten's (and Polydor's) parent company, Universal Records.
