Orvanne () was a short-lived commune in the department of Seine-et-Marne in north-central France. The commune was established on 1 January 2015 by merger of the former communes of Écuelles and Moret-sur-Loing. Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne () is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department, in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Moret-sur-Loing is the municipal seat. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 and consists of the former communes of Épisy, Montarlot and Orvanne. Orvanne was the result of the merger of the communes of Moret-sur-Loing and Écuelles on 1 January 2015. Loing
The Loing () is a long river in central France, a left tributary of the Seine. Its source is in Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing, in the southwestern of the department of Yonne, and it flows into the Seine in Saint-Mammès, near Moret-sur-Loing. Its main tributaries are the Ouanne, the Aveyron, the Puiseaux, the Solin, the Lunain and the Orvanne. The part of the Briare Canal between Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses and Montargis runs parallel to the Loing.
