The larger Kvernaland area is an amalgamation of villages in Rogaland county, Norway. The village is located along the north end of the lake Frøylandsvatnet. Frøyland og Orstad Church ( no, Frøyland og Orstad kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Klepp Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Orstad. It is the church for the Frøyland og Orstad parish which is part of the Jæren prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. This parish is unique in Norway since it includes parts of two municipalities: Klepp and Time, encompassing the whole Kvernaland area. Klepp is a municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Jæren. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Kleppe. Jæren Line
The Jæren Line ( no, Jærbanen) long railway line between Stavanger and Egersund in Jæren, Norway. The name is no longer in official use and the section is regarded as the westernmost part of the Sørlandet Line. Owned by the Norwegian Railway Directorate, the line has double track from Stavanger Station to Sandnes Station, and single track from Sandnes to Egersund Station. The line is electrified at and equipped with centralized traffic control and GSM-R. The line is served by the Jæren Commuter Rail and intercity trains along the Sørlandet Line, both operated by the Vy. Frøylandsvatnet
Frøylandsvatnet is a lake in Rogaland county, Norway. The lake is located in the district of Jæren. It forms part of the municipal boundary line between Klepp and Time. The lake is quite shallow, with an average depth of . The town of Bryne is located at the south end of the lake. The villages of Klepp stasjon, Orstad, and Kvernaland are all located around the northern end of the lake. The origin of the name is from the Norse god Frey. Environmental issues The lake is located in an area with very intensive agriculture. Early in the 1980s the lake was identified as being one of the worst cases of eutrophication in Norway. Algal bloom was a widespread problem, and there were cases reported of poisonous algae causing cattle to die from drinking the water. The release of substances containing nitrogen and phosphorus has since been reduced, but large collections of sediment in the shallow lake cause the problems to decline rather slowly.
