Orrin Gaines II
Orrin McKinze Gaines II (born March 2, 1998) is an American professional Association football, soccer player who plays as a Midfielder#Winger, winger for USL Championship side New Mexico United. Career Gaines grew up in the Austin area where he played youth soccer for Lonestar Soccer Club. On August 12, 2017, Gaines made his professional debut against SSV Jahn Regensburg, Jahn Regensburg in the DFB-Pokal. On July 8, 2019, Gaines signed with SG Sonnenhof Großaspach, Sonnenhof Großaspach. Gaines joined Hannover 96 ahead of the 2020–21 season, starting with Hannover 96 II, the team's reserve squad. He made his debut for the first team against SC Paderborn 07, SC Paderborn in the 2. Bundesliga. He left the club ahead of the 2021–22 season. 2025 USL Championship Season
The 2025 USL Championship season is the 15th season of the USL Championship, the eighth season under Division II sanctioning, and 30th season overall of a national division 2 league, in the United States. 24 teams in two conferences are competing in the regular season. Lexington SC joined from USL League One. Memphis 901 FC withdrew because it was unable to secure construction of a soccer-specific stadium. The team transferred their franchise rights to Santa Barbara Sky FC, which will begin play in the 2026 season. The Brooklyn FC men's team, which was scheduled to begin play in 2025, elected to postpone its debut to the 2026 season. All 24 teams will participate in the USL Jägermeister Cup alongside the 14 USL League One teams. The 2024 MLS SuperDraft was the 25th edition of the MLS SuperDraft, a sports draft to select amateur, usually collegiate, soccer players that are not affiliate with an MLS club, or college soccer players that had their Homegrown player rights relinquished by their parent MLS club. The draft was held on December 19, 2023, marking the second year in a row that the draft was held in December. Despite the draft being held in 2023, the draft retained the 2024 branding. Ahead of the 2024 draft, MLS has expanded the player eligibility criteria for the SuperDraft.
