Orphy Klempa (October 9, 1951 – October 11, 2021) was an American politician who served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from the 3rd district from 2006 to 2010 and in the West Virginia Senate from the 1st district from 2010 to 2012. West Virginia's 1st Senate district is one of 17 districts in the West Virginia Senate. It is currently represented by Republican Ryan Weld and Republican Laura Wakim Chapman . Rocky Fitzsimmons
Robert J. "Rocky" Fitzsimmons (born March 5, 1979) is an American attorney and politician from the state of West Virginia. A member of the Democratic Party, Fitzsimmons served in the West Virginia Senate for the 1st district. Fitzsimmons attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a bachelor of science magna cum laude degree in biomedical engineering. He enrolled at the Wake Forest University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor. As an attorney, he joined the Fitzsimmons Law Firm, based in Warwood, West Virginia, with other members of his family. Fitzsimmons was appointed to the West Virginia Senate in December 2012 by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, replacing Orphy Klempa. Chris Wakim
Chris Wakim (born December 19, 1957) is a former member of the West Virginia House of Delegates having represented the Third District from 2003 to 2007. He was also the 2008 Republican nominee for the First Senatorial District in West Virginia. The Third District represents the majority of citizens in Ohio County, WV. In the 77th West Virginia House of Delegates, Wakim was the Ranking Republican on the Veterans Affairs/Homeland Security committee. The grandson of Lebanese immigrants, he graduated from West Point in 1980. During his 11-year Army career, Wakim attained the rank of captain, along the way suffering a broken back, crushed elbow, and reconstructed knee while an infantry officer. He now has disabled veteran status. Wakim has not provided specific details about how the accidents occurred. Ryan James Ferns (born December 2, 1982) is an American politician from the state of West Virginia. He was a member of the West Virginia Senate for the 1st district. Ferns was defeated for reelection in 2018 by Democratic candidate William J. Ihlenfeld II. Biography Ferns was first elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2010, as a member of the Democratic Party. On April 20, 2012, he was arrested for drunken driving in Wheeling, Virginia. On April 23, 2012, he entered a guilty plea and paid a $500 fine. Ferns' blood-alcohol level was 0.22, nearly three times West Virginia's legal limit. That year, he was reelected by 280 votes.
