Orlaith Carmody
Orlaith Carmody is an Irish businesswoman, author, News reporter and co-founder of Gavin Duffy and Associates (formerly Media Training), along with her husband and business partner, ''Dragons' Den'' investor Gavin Duffy. Career Carmody was previously a newscaster and reporter at LMFM and Century Radio. As a Director of Aerga Productions, she won a Screen Training Ireland bursary to attend the Entertainment Master Class international media leadership programme. She spoke at TEDxTallaght in 2013, TEDxDCU in 2015 and at the SME Assembly 2014 in Naples, Italy. Kilmacud
Kilmacud () is a suburban area of Dublin in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland, at least partly contiguous with Stillorgan. Name ''Kilmacud'' is an anglicisation of the Irish name , "church of aintMochuda". The identity of the dedicatee Mochuda is uncertain; is often a hypocoristic prefix. One possibility is Mo Chutu of Lismore. Another is the Welsh–Breton Malo or Mochud, supposedly a companion of Brendan the Navigator. Another suggestion is Cuthbert of Lindisfarne, whose cult could have been brought to Viking Dublin by Norse settlers from the Kingdom of Northumbria. This may be a conflation of Kilmacud with Kilmahuddrick, west of Clondalkin, which the annals of St. Mary's Abbey said is where Cuthbert was born. Location Ordnance Survey of Ireland maps show that the civil parish of Kilmacud comprises two townlands, Kilmacud East and West. ''The Herald'' is a nationwide mid-market tabloid newspaper headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, and published by Independent News & Media who are a subsidiary of Mediahuis. It is published Monday–Saturday. The newspaper was known as the ''Evening Herald'' until its name was changed in 2013. History The ''Evening Herald'' was first published in Dublin on 19 December 1891. In 1982 the paper changed its size from broadsheet to tabloid. Until November 2000, the ''Evening Herald'' was produced and pressed in Independent House on Middle Abbey Street, Dublin 1. Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) is a global non-profit organization formerly known as Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO). The organization was founded in 1987. History In 1987, 22 young entrepreneurs created an organization and what was then called The Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO) expanded throughout the United States and Canada. Within a few years, membership grew to include chapters in Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. In 1996, YEO helped create the World Entrepreneurs’ Organization (WEO), which served as an alumni organization for YEO members who, after the age of 40, wanted to continue their involvement in an entrepreneurial membership organization. Century Radio, also known as ''Century 100'' and later ''Century FM'', was a short-lived national commercial radio station in the Republic of Ireland, broadcasting from 4 September 1989 to 19 November 1991. History Launch Launched at 8am on Monday 4 September 1989, Century Radio was intended as the first licensed alternative to RTÉ Radio 1 within the Republic of Ireland and the country's first national commercial station. The first song played on the station was ''Pride (In the Name of Love)'' by U2. The national licence was issued in an effort to kill off pirate radio in the Republic of Ireland, but full coverage was only achieved in early 1990. Gavin Duffy
Gavin Duffy (born Liam Duffy; 29 April 1960) Kildare, Ireland is an Irish entrepreneur and businessman who was a former part owner of the HRM Group of Companies, one of Ireland's largest recruitment companies. Duffy is a regular conference speaker at business events in Ireland. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the 2018 presidential election. Early life Duffy was the youngest of three brothers and lived as a child in Sallins, County Kildare, where his father, Ned Duffy, had a pig farm. His mother, Anne Duffy, ran The Gem restaurant in Naas. He attended the local primary school, St. Laurence's, in Sallins. The family sold the farm after the outbreaks of swine fever in the early 1970s and moved to Drogheda, County Louth, where they bought a pub.
