The Venice Film Festival or Venice International Film Festival ( it, Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica della Biennale di Venezia, "International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art of the Venice Biennale") is an annual film festival held in Venice, Italy. 67th Venice International Film Festival
The 67th annual Venice International Film Festival held in Venice, Italy, took place from 1 to 11 September 2010. American film director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino was the head of the Jury. The opening film of the festival was Darren Aronofsky's '' Black Swan'', and the closing film was Julie Taymor's '' The Tempest''. John Woo was awarded the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement prior to the start of the Festival. Court (film)
''Court'' is a 2014 Indian legal drama film, written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane in his directorial debut. The film examines the Indian legal system through the Mumbai Sessions Court trial of an aging protest singer, Narayan Kamble (Vira Sathidar), who is accused of encouraging a manhole worker to commit suicide through one of his folk songs. It also stars Geetanjali Kulkarni, Pradeep Joshi and Shirish Pawar. The film's music was composed by Sambhaji Bhagat while Mrinal Desai and Rikhav Desai served as its cinematographer and editor, respectively. Tamhane was curious to see the difference between the real courtrooms and the way they were depicted in films. He wanted to explore the "judicial nightmare" in an Indian setting after coming across several real-life cases. His friend Vivek Gomber agreed to produce the film and also acted in it. Robin Campillo (; born 16 August 1962) is a Moroccan-born French screenwriter, editor and film director. ''Eastern Boys'' is a 2013 French drama film written and directed by Robin Campillo. It premiered at the 70th Venice International Film Festival in the Orizzonti section and was later screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.; Plot Marek, a young Ukrainian immigrant in Paris, works the street in front of the Gare du Nord with his friends, other Eastern European 'toughs'. He is approached by Daniel, a French businessman in his 50s, self-consciously cruising at the station, and agrees to visit him at his home at 6pm the following day. The 70th annual Venice International Film Festival took place in Venice, Italy from 28 August to 7 September 2013. American film director William Friedkin was presented with a lifetime achievement award. Italian film director Bernardo Bertolucci was the President of the Jury. Wang Bing (; born 1967) is a Chinese director, often referred to as one of the foremost figures in documentary film-making. Wang is the founder of his own production company, Wang Bing Studios, which produces most of his films. His movie on Chinese labour camps, '' The Ditch'', was included in the 2010 Venice Film Festival as the ''film sorpresa''. Recognition ''Tie Xi Qu'', Wang's 9 hour epic documentary of industrial China, was considered a major success. Shinya Tsukamoto
is a Japanese filmmaker, film producer, screenwriter, editor, director, cinematographer, art director, production designer and actor. With a considerable cult following both domestically and abroad, Tsukamoto is best known for his body horror/cyberpunk film '' Tetsuo: The Iron Man'' (1989), which is considered the defining film of the Japanese Cyberpunk movement, as well as for its companion pieces '' Tetsuo II: Body Hammer'' (1992) and '' Tetsuo: The Bullet Man'' (2009). ''Kotoko'' is a 2011 Japanese film by director Shinya Tsukamoto. It is based on an original story by J-pop artist Cocco, who stars in the film alongside Tsukamoto. Plot Suffering from double vision, a single mother (Cocco) tries to take care of her baby in the grip of terrifying hallucinations.
