Oricum
Oricum (; or ''Oricus''; or ''Orikum'') was a harbor on the Illyrian coast that developed in an Ancient Greek polis at the south end of the Bay of Vlorë on the southern Adriatic coast. It was located at the foot of the Akrokeraunian Mountains, the natural border between ancient Epirus and Illyria. Oricum later became an important Roman city between the provinces of Epirus Vetus and Epirus Nova in Macedonia. It is now an archaeological park of Albania, near modern Orikum, Vlorë County. Oricum holds such a strategic geographical position that the area has been in continuous usage as a naval base from antiquity to the present-days. It appears that the site of Oricum was uninhabited before the 6th century BC. Dukat, Albania
Dukat is a community in Vlorë County, southern Albania. With the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the municipality Vlorë. The Dukat Plain covers an area of around 1,000–1,500 ha delimited by the Ceraunian Mountains and opened in the north towards the Bay of Vlorë on the Adriatic. Dukat traditionally belongs to the Albanian ethnographic region of Labëria. Name Its name contains the Albanian suffix ''-at'', widely used to form toponyms from personal names and surnames. Tragjas
Tragjas is a community in the Vlorë County, southwestern Albania. With the 2015 local government reform, it became part of the municipality Vlorë. History The village has been inhabited since ancient times where the ruins of the city of Sofa are located near old Tragjas dating to the Illyrian tribes to the IV century BCE. The village revolted in 1432 and the castle of Sofa was ruined by the Ottomans. The village joined Skanderbeg's rebellion in 1444 and Gjon Boçari from the village built a second castle in the village. The village continued to join local rebellions during the following years: 1537,1581,1833 and 1847 and in 1912 it supported greatly the Albanian founding fathers. During World War II, Tragjas was part of the battlefield of the battle of Gjorm, where Albanian resistance units defeated and routed the troops of the Kingdom of Italy. Vlorë County (; ) is one of the 12 counties of Albania with the city of Vlorë being the county capital. The county spans and has a total population of 146,681 people as of 2023. It borders the counties of Fier and Gjirokastër, as well as the Adriatic and Ionian Sea. Greece borders Vlorë to the south. Vlorë is geographically a very mountainous county.
