Orient Express (1944 Film)
''Orient Express'' () is a 1944 German thriller film directed by Viktor Tourjansky and starring Siegfried Breuer, Gusti Wolf and Rudolf Prack.Wiesenthal p. 28 It was shot at the Bavaria Studios in Munich. The film's sets were designed by the art director Ludwig Reiber. Synopsis As the Orient Express hurtles through the Balkans, a loud scream is heard and the communication cord is pulled. The guard investigates and discovers a dead man in one of the compartments. Police from the nearest town arrive to investigate. It seems most of the passengers are suspicious. Victor Tourjansky ( 4 March 1891 – 13 August 1976), born Vyacheslav Konstantinovich Turzhansky (), was a Russian actor, screenwriter and film director who emigrated after the Russian Revolution (1917), Russian Revolution of 1917. He worked in France, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Biography Born into a family of artists in Kiev, Tourjansky moved to Moscow in 1911, where he spent a year studying under Konstantin Stanislavski. He became involved with silent film and, two years later, made his first productions as a screenwriter and director on the eve of World War I. When the October Revolution broke out, he left and stayed in Yalta, which had not yet been taken by the Bolsheviks. Oskar Sima
Oskar Sima (31 July 1896 – 24 June 1969) was an Austrian actor who is best remembered for appearing in supporting roles in countless comedy films from the 1930s to the 1960s. Born in Hohenau an der March, Lower Austria, Sima attended high school in Vienna. After a brief tour in the army during World War I, he began acting in various theatrical productions in Berlin, Vienna, and other cities in Central Europe. He began his film career in 1921, and appeared in a number of German silent films early on. Sima was frequently cast as the comic villain whose machinations get everyone into trouble, although often his villainous stature was used to more chilling effect. Paul Victor Ernst Dahlke (12 April 1904 – 23 November 1984) was a German stage and film actor. Career Dahlke was born in Gross Streitz (today Strzezenice, Poland) near Köslin in Farther Pomerania. He visited school in Köslin, Stargard and passed his Abitur in Dortmund in 1922. Dahlke started to study at the ''Bergakademie'' in Clausthal (now Clausthal University of Technology) and the Technische Hochschule in Charlottenburg (now Technische Universität Berlin) but also attended some lectures in German philology and dramatics.
