Orfeas Avgoustidis
Orfeas (), named after the mythical musician Orpheus, is a former municipality in the Evros regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Soufli, of which it is a municipal unit. Its land area is . It is located in the north-central part of Evros, and borders both southeastern Bulgaria and northwestern Turkey. The seat of the municipality was in Lavara (pop. 747 in 2021). Much of the land is mountainous and forested to the west, extending up to the Rhodope regional unit. It is linked with GR-51 (Alexandroupoli – Orestiada – Edirne in Turkey and Svilengrad in Bulgaria). The town of Lávara sits on a plain. Ivaylovgrad
Ivaylovgrad (, "city of Ivaylo", , Turkish :Ortaköy, "Middle Village") is a town in Haskovo Province in the south of Bulgaria set near the river Arda in the easternmost part of the Rhodope Mountains, and is the administrative centre of the homonymous Ivaylovgrad Municipality. The border with Evros, Greece is around two miles from the town centre. History Byzantine eparchial lists from the time of the 9th-10th century mention a bishop's centre by the name of Lyutitsa on the site of present-day Ivaylovgrad. According to John VI Kantakouzenos (1347–1354), his infantry reached the fortress in 1342–1343. The settlement was destroyed by the Ottoman Turks during their invasion of the Balkans in the 14th-15th century. Sapes
Sapes ( or ) is a town and a former municipality in the Rhodope (regional unit), Rhodope regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Maroneia-Sapes, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 354.596 km2. The population is 6,738 (2021). Province The province of Sapes () was one of the provinces of Greece, provinces of the Rhodope Prefecture. Its territory corresponded with that of the current municipal unit Sapes and the municipality Arriana, except the municipal unit Organi.  It was abolished in 2006. References

Didymoteicho ( ) is a town located on the eastern edge of the Evros (regional unit), Evros regional unit of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in northeastern Greece. It is the seat of the municipality of the same name. Metaxades (Greek language, Greek: Μεταξάδες, ) is a large village, municipal unit and a former municipality in the Evros (regional unit), Evros regional unit, East Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. Protokklisi
Protokklisi ( meaning the first church, ) is a village and a community in the central part of the Evros regional unit in Greece. Protoklissi is in the municipal unit of Orfeas. In 2021 its population was 776 for the community, including the village Agriani. Protokklisi is located about 15 km northwest of Soufli, in the valley of a right tributary of the river Evros. Population History The name of the village during the Ottoman rule was Bashklise (Başkilise in Turkish, Башклисе ''Bašklise'' in Bulgarian). In 1830, it had 100 Bulgarian families, in 1878 and 1912 the village had 105 Bulgarian families. According to professor Lyubomir Miletich, the 1912 population contained 100 Bulgarian families. After a brief period of Bulgarian rule between 1913 and 1919, it became part of Greece. As a result its Bulgarian population was exchanged with Greek refugees, mainly from today's Turkey.
