Ora Et Labora (album)
''Ora et labora'' (''Pray and work'') is an album by Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson. It was released on April 10, 2013. All songs on the album were written by Marko Perković and Tiho Orlić. Themes The album featured heavy Christian and Catholic themes, as well as Croatian patriotic elements, like most of Thompson's. The title of the album serves as the core theme that is reiterated in both the first ("Sokolov krik") and last ("Put u raj") song. Many songs are directed at/offer prayers to God, such as "Maranatha" ("Maranatha"), "Uvijek vjerni tebi" ("Always Faithful to You"). Other songs include historical elements about Croatia, such as "Bosna" ("Bosnia") and "Bog i Hrvati" ("God and the Croats") which are also the two longest songs on the album. Thompson is a Croatian ethno hard rock band, founded by songwriter and lead vocalist Marko Perković ("Thompson"), who is often identified with the band itself. The lineup consists of Tomislav Mandarić, Ivan Ivanković, Duje Ivić, and Ivica Bilić Ike. The band name originates from the Thompson submachine gun, a nickname given to Perković while he fought in the Croatian War of Independence. Although predominantly formed in Čavoglave, Thompson is currently based in Zagreb. The band came to prominence during the Croatian War of Independence with the release of their first single "Bojna Čavoglave". Stjepan Radić
Stjepan Radić (11 June 1871 – 8 August 1928) was a Croat politician and founder of the Croatian People's Peasant Party (HPSS), active in Austria-Hungary and the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. He is credited with galvanizing Croatian peasantry into a viable political force. Throughout his entire career, Radić was opposed to the union and later Serb hegemony in Yugoslavia and became an important political figure in that country. He was shot in parliament by the Serbian People's Radical Party politician Puniša Račić. Radić died several weeks later from a serious stomach wound at the age of 57. Marko Perković
Marko Perković (; born 27 October 1966) is a Croatian musician who has been the lead singer of the band Thompson since 1991. Perković was born in the village of Čavoglave, SR Croatia, within SFR Yugoslavia, today a part of Croatia. He participated in the Croatian War of Independence (1991–95), during which he started his career with the nationalist song "Bojna Čavoglave". In 2002, he started his first major tour after the release of the '' E, moj narode'' album.
