The village is located at the junction of the European route E06 and the Norwegian National Road 70. European Route E06
European route E6 (, , or simply E6) is the main north–south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Route From south to north, the E6 runs through Trelleborg, Malmö, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Gothenburg, Svinesund in Sweden, before crossing the border at the Svinesund Bridge into Norway. Valley
A valley is an elongated low area often running between hills or mountains and typically containing a river or stream running from one end to the other. A ''prestegjeld'' was a geographic and administrative area within the Church of Norway (''Den Norske Kirke'') roughly equivalent to a parish. Oppdal Station
Oppdal Station () is a railway station located in downtown Oppdal in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It sits close to the European route E06 highway, just northwest of the mountain Allmannberget. The village of Oppdal is dominated by mountain tourism and skiing in winter. The station is located along the Dovre Line, and it is served by four daily express trains going in each direction to Oslo and Trondheim. It is also served by a few daily Trøndelag Commuter Rail to Trondheim. The station was opened in 1921 as part of the Dovre Line when it was extended from Dombås to Trondheim. The Dovre Line () is a Norwegian railway line with three slightly different lines which all lead to the historic city of Trondheim. Definition *Dovre Line is the main line between Eidsvoll Station and Trondheim Station, used by Jernbaneverket since 2008. *Dovre Line is also the current name of the main line of the Norwegian railway system (Jernbaneverket) between Oslo and Trondheim, used when referring to the long-distance passenger trains. *Dovre Line was the name of the main line between Dombås and Trondheim until 2008. Oppdal Church
Oppdal Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located at the Vang farm, near Norwegian National Road 70, just west of the village of Oppdal. It is the main church for the Oppdal parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a cruciform style in 1651 using plans drawn up by the architects Ole Jonsen Hindrum and Nils Olsen. The church seats about 450 people. The church is sometimes nicknamed ''"Marit på Vang"''. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1297, but it was not new that year. Driva, Trøndelag
Driva is a village in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the European route E6 highway and along the river Driva at the northern end of the Drivdalen valley. It is about south of the municipal center of Oppdal and about north of the small village of Kongsvoll. The western part of the village is the site of the Holan farm, the Lo farm area is in the north, and the Risan farm area in the south. St. Mikael's Chapel is located a short distance south of the village area. The Drivdalen Adult Education Center is located in the village. The E6 highway and the Dovrebanen railway both pass through the village, but Driva station is no longer a functioning railway stop. Fagerhaugen is a village in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located along the European route E6 highway, about northeast of the village of Oppdal. Fagerhaugen is located just south of the municipal border with Rennebu Municipality. In 1921, Fagerhaug Church was built in the village. Norwegian National Road 70
National Road 70 () is a long national highway that runs from the town of Kristiansund in Kristiansund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county and the village of Oppdal in Oppdal Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The road starts in downtown Kristiansund. It passes an intersection with the terminus of County Road 64, before passing by Kristiansund Airport, Kvernberget. The road crosses via the Nordsund Bridge from the island of Nordlandet to the island of Gomalandet. From Gomalandet to the island of Bergsøya, it crosses under the Freifjorden in the Freifjord Tunnel, and then onwards to the mainland via the Bergsøysund Bridge and the Straumsund Bridge.
