''Opium fürs Volk'' (''Opium for the people'') is the seventh studio album by the German punk band Die Toten Hosen. Although it's not considered a concept album, it has a central theme of religion (exemplified by the intro "Vaterunser", "Die zehn Gebote" and " Paradies"). It is regarded as one of the best Die Toten Hosen albums. The title is derived from a common misquotation of Karl Marx, who called religion the Opium of the People - ''Opium des Volkes''. Die Toten Hosen are a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. The name is taken from the German slang idiom ''tote Hose'' (literally "dead trousers"), which means "nothing happening"; "boring". The band has had an important success through the years, and it has built a loyal following both in Europe and South America, being particularly popular in their home country and in Argentina. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one, Vom, who is English, are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was also English. Vom joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. "Pushed Again" is a song by Die Toten Hosen. It is the only single and the fifth track from the album ''Crash-Landing''. The song is about being tormented by somebody and trying to get this somebody off the narrator's back. Music video The music video was directed by Ralf Schmerberg. XTC (song)
XTC were an English rock band formed in Swindon in 1972. Fronted by songwriters Andy Partridge (vocals, guitars) and Colin Moulding (vocals, bass), the band gained popularity during the rise of punk and new wave in the 1970s, later playing in a variety of styles that ranged from angular guitar riffs to elaborately arranged pop. Partly because the group did not fit into contemporary trends, they achieved only sporadic commercial success in the UK and US, but attracted a considerable cult following. The Frog Prince
"The Frog Prince; or, Iron Henry" (, literally "The Frog King or the Iron Henry") is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimms' Fairy Tales, ''Grimm's Fairy Tales'' (KHM 1). "Bonnie & Clyde" is a song by Die Toten Hosen. It's the third single and the ninth track from the album ''Opium fürs Volk''. "Bonnie & Clyde" is a romantic song about a man and a woman, who want to play Bonnie and Clyde - criminals that are in love with each other. At the start of the song, the two have never met before, but the man knows she's the one he's been missing. An English version was recorded for ''Crash-Landing''. Die Ärzte covered the song as a part of a medley in a concert of 1998, which is available on the single of " Die Schönen und das Biest: Elke (live)".
