Operation Rising Sun
Operation Sun Rising was a Cold War military intelligence program run by the Inter-Services Intelligence, ISI or Pakistan during the late 1970s. In the 1970s, the program was launched when the ISI believed the President of the United States, President Jimmy Carter's Carter administration, administration was planning of sabotaging and infiltrating the highly clandestine Pakistan and weapons of mass destruction, atomic bomb projects. The program's purpose was to collect Intelligence cycle management, intelligence cycle on potential contingency plans of Carter administration sabotaging of certain bomb-related installations and facilities. The Cold War is a term commonly used to refer to a period of Geopolitics, geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union and their respective allies, the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc. Intelligence Bureau (Pakistan)
The Intelligence Bureau ( ur, ) is a civilian intelligence agency in Pakistan. Established in 1947, the IB is Pakistan's oldest intelligence agency. Appointments and supervision of its operations are authorized by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Brief history The Intelligence Bureau originally part of the British Raj's Intelligence Bureau which was established by the British Army's Major General Sir Charles MacGregor who, at that time, was Quartermaster General and head of the Intelligence Department for the British Indian Army at Shimla, in 1885. Prior to this appointment, Major General Sir MacGregor was sent to British Indian Empire by the Queen Victoria. Ansar Abbasi ( ur, ) (born June 12, 1965), is a Pakistani right-wing commentator and columnist associated with '' The News International''. Imtiaz Ahmed (brigadier)
Brigadier Imtiaz Ahmed ( ur, ; born 1935), , also known as Imtiaz Billa, is a retired engineering officer in the Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers, and former spy, who served as the Director-General of the Intelligence Bureau from 1990 to 1993. After a brief time in Combat Engineering in the Pakistan Army, his career was mostly spent at the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency, where he was responsible for running internal security before serving in the civilian Intelligence Bureau. In 1989, his military commission was discharged when he was implicated in the Operation Midnight Jackal political scandal in trying to sabotage then-Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's administration. Inter-Services Intelligence
The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI; ur, , bayn khadamatiy mukhabarati) is the premier intelligence agency of Pakistan. It is responsible for gathering, processing, and analyzing any information from around the world that is deemed relevant to Pakistan's national security. As one of the principal members of the Pakistani intelligence community, the ISI reports to its Director-General and is primarily focused on providing intelligence to the Pakistani government. Pakistan is one of nine states to possess nuclear weapons.
