OpenSkies
OpenSkies was a French airline owned by International Airlines Group (IAG) which operated under the Level (airline brand), Level brand prior to closing down, and before that operated under its own brand name. Its headquarters were located in Rungis, near Paris. The airline launched as a brand of BA European Limited in June 2008, but in April 2009 the name was transferred to Elysair (which had operated as L'Avion). The airline was a full-service carrier and offered three class service cabins on board its aircraft, operating between Orly Airport, Paris Orly Airport in France and both Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark and John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York in the United States. Fly Level SL, styled as LEVEL, is a Spanish airline owned by the International Airlines Group (IAG). The airline has a registered office in Viladecans, Spain. Level was initially launched as an airline brand, with low-cost, long-haul flights operated by Iberia, and began transatlantic services from Barcelona–El Prat Airport in June 2017. In July 2018, Level expanded with long-haul services from Paris Orly Airport, which took over the operations of IAG subsidiary OpenSkies, and began its first short-haul services from Vienna International Airport, operated by Level Europe. On 18 June 2020, Level Europe entered insolvency and the brand's short-haul flights operated by the Austria-based airline were terminated with immediate effect. Elysair SAS, operating as L'Avion (French for "The plane"), was an airline headquartered in Paray Vieille Poste, France, near Wissous. It operated business class-only long-haul service between Orly Airport, Paris and Newark Liberty International Airport in the USA. The airline was sold to British Airways and has since merged with OpenSkies, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways.
