Oorkavalan
''Oorkavalan'' () is a 1987 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language action drama film directed by Manobala, starring Rajinikanth and Radhika Sarathkumar, Radhika. The film, released on 4 September 1987, was a super hit at the box office. Plot The story describes the struggle of a young villager Kangeyan to receive justice for his brother's murder. Manickam falls in love with Mallika, the daughter of Pannaiyar. Mallika's marriage is arranged with Durai, but she refuses and declares her love for Manickam. Kangeyan gets them married in the village. The priest pretends to have divine powers and uses the superstitious beliefs of the villagers to kill Manickam. Kangeyan, not wanting to see Mallika as a widow, decides to get her married again to Pandiyan, a cart driver who was her childhood friend. Raghuvaran Velayuthan Nair (11 December 1958 – 19 March 2008) was an Indian actor who predominantly acted in films made in South India. He has acted in more than 200 Tamil language, Tamil, Telugu language, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films. Balachandar (8 December 1953 – 3 May 2023), known by his stage name Manobala (), was an Indian actor, film producer, director, comedian, and YouTuber who predominantly played supporting roles in Tamil-language films. He worked predominantly in the film industry for nearly forty years and was notable for his unique body language and dialogue delivery and was also well known for his intonation. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), popularly known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a prolific Tamil playback singer and actor. Born in the town of Kuala Selangor in the Federated Malay States (present day Malaysia), he moved to Chennai, Tamil Nadu to work in the Tamil film industry, where he rose to prominence. Pandiyan better known as Mann Vasanai Pandiyan (5 January 1960 – 10 January 2008) was an Indian actor and politician who acted in 112 films in lead roles from 1983 to 1991 and supporting roles from 1992 to 2003. Career Pandiyan was selling bangles in his family owned jewellery shop in Madurai, India when he was spotted by director Bharathiraja who offered him the lead role in the film '' Mann Vasanai'' (1983) which became a box-office hit. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film '' Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968.
