Oochya!
''Oochya!'' is the twelfth studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics, released on 4 March 2022 on Ignition Records. It was supported by a 2022 UK arena tour. Background ''Oochya!'' originally began life when the band were planning a 25th anniversary compilation. Frontman Kelly Jones said, "I began rooting through hard drives to see what to put on it. As I did that, I was finding songs we'd never released. Three or four songs on ''Oochya!'' are built on those, and it led me to writing a bunch of new songs too." Jones also described the album as "90 percent" uptempo. Release and promotion Singles On 6 September 2021 the band released the first single taken from the album, "Hanging on Your Hinges". The song premiered on ''The Chris Evans Breakfast Show'' on Virgin Radio UK. An official lyric video was also uploaded to YouTube. Stereophonics
Stereophonics are a Welsh pop and rock music, Welsh rock band formed in 1992 in the village of Cwmaman in the Cynon Valley. The band consists of Kelly Jones (lead vocals, lead guitar, keyboards), Richard Jones (Stereophonics), Richard Jones (no relation to Kelly; bass guitar, harmonica, backing vocals), Adam Zindani (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Jamie Morrison (drums, percussion) and touring member Tony Kirkham (keyboards). The group previously included Stuart Cable (1992–2003) and then Javier Weyler (2004–2012) on drums. Stereophonics have released thirteen studio albums, including nine UK number one albums. ''Kind'' is the eleventh studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics released on 25 October 2019 on Parlophone Records, nearly two years after their previous album, '' Scream Above the Sounds''. Recorded over an eleven-day period between 29 June and 9 July 2019 at The Ramsbury Brewery & Distillery in Marlborough, Wiltshire, the album was produced by lead singer and guitarist Kelly Jones and George Drakoulias. ''Kind'' topped the UK Albums Chart, becoming the band's first to do so since ''Keep the Village Alive'' (2015) and their seventh overall. ''Make 'Em Laugh, Make 'Em Cry, Make 'Em Wait'' is the thirteenth studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. It was released on 25 April 2025 through EMI. With a runtime of about 30 minutes, the album is the shortest in the band's history. Background and singles After the release of his solo studio album ''Inevitable Incredible'' in May 2024, lead singer Kelly Jones was approached to come up with two new songs for a Stereophonics compilation album but ended up recording a whole new album after the record company had gotten ahold of a few demos. As a result, Jones intended to create a project that is "very concise, very compact, very melodic", which is how he pictured the band to sound in 2025. Kelly Jones
Kelly Jones (born 3 June 1974) is a Welsh musician and a founding member, lead singer, and guitarist of the rock band Stereophonics. Early life and debut Kelly Jones was born the youngest of three boys to Beryl and Arwyn Jones in the small Welsh former mining village of Cwmaman, Mid Glamorgan, spending his childhood with them and his two older brothers, Kevin and Lee. Both of his parents worked in factories. His father coached youth association football, football and pursued his own singing career. The name of Arwyn's backing band, Oscar and the Kingfishers, earned him the nickname 'Oscar' among friends and family. He went on to secure a record deal with Polydor, who renamed him 'Arwyn Davidson' due to the sheer number of Joneses in the music business at the time. The LP (from long playing or long play) is an Analog recording, analog sound storage medium, specifically a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of revolutions per minute, rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk. The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) or the Federation of the Italian Music Industry is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. It was established in 1992, when major corporate labels left the previously existing Associazione dei Fonografici Italiani (AFI). During the following years, most of the remaining Italian record labels left AFI to join the new organisation. As of 2011, FIMI represents 2,500 companies operating in the music business. The Official Albums Chart is the United Kingdom's industry-recognised national record chart for album, albums. Entries are ranked by sales and audio streaming. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on ''UKChartsPlus'' as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders.
