One Good Reason (album)
''One Good Reason'' is the third solo studio album by the English singer-songwriter Paul Carrack, then a member of the rock supergroup Mike + The Mechanics. It was released in November 1987 by Chrysalis Records, five years after his previous studio album, '' Suburban Voodoo'' (1982). In the interim between solo albums, Carrack had been a member of Nick Lowe and his Cowboy Outfit, which released two studio albums in 1984 and 1985, and joined Mike + The Mechanics for their 1985 self-titled debut. Mike + The Mechanics drummer Peter Van Hooke and songwriter and record producer Christopher Neil also appear on the album, serving in the same roles they did for the Mechanics. The album includes two of Carrack's highest charting solo hits in the US, " Don't Shed a Tear" (which became a Top 10 hit, peaking at No. 9) and "One Good Reason" (which peaked at No. 28). "When You Walk in the Room" is a song written and recorded by Jackie DeShannon. It was initially released as a single on November 23, 1963, as the B-side to "Till You Say You'll Be Mine". It was re-released as an A-side in September 1964, and later included on the album ''Breakin' It Up on the Beatles Tour''. The single charted on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at number 99. The song has been covered by many other artists including The Searchers, whose version reached number 3 in the UK in 1964. Another version was recorded by Paul Carrack in 1987. Pete Dello
Pete Dello (born Peter Blumsom, 26 May 1942, Oxford, UK) is a 1960s and 1970s singer-songwriter and now music teacher. Career Dello started his career as a musician in the skiffle era of the 1950s and was a founding member of the rock and roll band Grant Tracy and The Sunsets, after which he joined Steve Darbyshire's backing group, The Yum Yum Band, in the mid-1960s. This led onto him forming Honeybus, with whom he scored the hit single " I Can't Let Maggie Go" in 1968. Quickly leaving Honeybus rather than tour and promote the single, he next cut a solo album ''Into Your Ears'' in 1971, and also worked with John Killigrew. Ultimately he quit the music industry for other interests during the 1970s. Since then ''Into Your Ears'' has become a collectable album, with copies selling for over £1,200 in perfect condition. Graham Hamilton Lyle (born 11 March 1944, in Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Scotland) is a Scottish singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer. Billy Livsey is an American songwriter, keyboardist, and producer originally from St. Louis, Missouri and now resides in Nashville, Tennessee. He has worked with many musicians including Tina Turner, Kevin Ayers, Phil Manzanera, 801, Gerry Rafferty, Five Star, Gallagher and Lyle, Ronnie Lane, Kenny Rogers, and Rodney Crowell. Chris Difford
Christopher Henry Difford (born 4 November 1954) is an English singer, musician, songwriter and record producer. He is a founding member and songwriter of the rock group Squeeze. Musical career Born in Greenwich, London, Difford has written lyrics for over 40 years, most notably in partnership with Glenn Tilbrook. The two were primary members in Squeeze and Difford & Tilbrook. According to Difford, he stole 50p from his mother's purse to put a card in a local sweetshop window advertising for a guitarist to join his band, although he did not have one at the time. In music, groove is the sense of an effect ("feel") of changing pattern in a propulsive rhythm or sense of "swing". ''Trouser Press'' was a rock and roll magazine started in New York in 1974 as a mimeographed fanzine by editor/publisher Ira Robbins, fellow fan of the Who Dave Schulps and Karen Rose under the name "Trans-Oceanic Trouser Press" (a reference to a song by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and an acronymic play on the British TV show ''Top of the Pops)''.
