Sharon, Lois & Bram (also known as Sharon, Bram & Friends, Sharon & Bram or Sharon & Randi) are a Canadian children's music group founded in Toronto, Ontario, 1978. Group formation Sharon Hampson, Lois Lilienstein, and Bram Morrison began their singing careers as individuals, and met while performing for the "Mariposa in the Schools" program. The three performers quickly discovered that they shared a common philosophy about creating quality music for people of all ages. Elephant Records
Elephants are the largest existing land animals. Three living species are currently recognised: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. They are the only surviving members of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea. The order was formerly much more diverse during the Pleistocene, but most species became extinct during the Late Pleistocene epoch. Distinctive features of elephants include a long proboscis called a trunk, tusks, large ear flaps, pillar-like legs, and tough but sensitive skin. The trunk is used for breathing, bringing food and water to the mouth, and grasping objects. Bill Usher
Bill Usher is a Canadian drummer and percussionist. During the 1970s he was a member of the rock group Truck. Background He played on Bob McBride's ''Sea of Dreams'' album that was released in 1973. He produced artist Mark Rust, whose recording won Calf Audio their 3rd Crown PZM competition. In 1986, he became a member of the CARAS nominating and voting committee. He was also the president of Kids Records, a Toronto-based record label. Career 1970s For a brief period he was a member of Truck and played bongos and congas on their 1973 self-titled album. In March, 1977, Usher was part of Bruce Cockburn's band which also included musicians, Vob Bouchier on string bass and Pat Godfrey on keyboards. Cockburn and his band had embarked on a two and a half month Canadian tour beginning at the Playhouse in Fredericton on the 20th of February that year. In the Schoolyard is the fourth album by popular children's entertainers Sharon, Lois & Bram, originally released in 1981, featuring a central theme of songs and rhymes from the schoolyard. Releases The album has been completely re-designed and once by Casablanca Kids Inc. However, A&M Records re-released the album and made a few minor changes to the original cover art. ''Mainly Mother Goose'' is the sixth album by popular children's entertainers Sharon, Lois & Bram, originally released in 1984. It has been re-released several times, but the artwork on the front covers remained basically the same. It was the first album of Sharon, Lois & Bram's to have a central theme throughout the entire album (aka Nursery Rhymes/Mother Goose). Mainly Mother Goose was also the first of the Sharon, Lois & Bram albums to be originally released on CD as well as LP Record and Cassette. A songbooklet with words & music to all the songs was included in the original releases.
