Onarheim Church
Onarheim Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Tysnes Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Onarheim on the southeastern side of the island of Tysnesøya. It is the church for the Onarheim parish which is part of the Sunnhordland prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1893 using plans drawn up by the architect Karl Askeland from Radøy (island), Radøy. The church seats about 500 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1327, but the church was not new that year. Sunnhordland is a traditional district in the western region of Norway. The district consists of the southern coastal regions of the old Hordaland county (now part of Vestland county).
