Omega European Masters
The Omega European Masters is the Switzerland, Swiss stop on professional men's golf's European Tour, and in 2009 it became the first event in Europe to be co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. Founded as the Swiss Open in 1923, the tournament was prefixed with European Masters in 1983, before dropping Swiss Open from the title in 1992. During the 1971 event, Baldovino Dassù became the first player to score 60 for 18 holes on the European circuit. The tournament has been held at the Golf-Club Crans-sur-Sierre at Crans-Montana in Valais since 1939, and is currently played in early September each year. Michelle Wie at 2006 tournament In May, 2006, Michelle Wie, who had a sponsorship contract with Omega SA, Omega, accepted an invitation from the company to play in the 2006 tournament, making her first attempt to play on the men's European Tour. 2019 European Tour
The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972. Changes for 2019 Rule changes From January 1, 2019 onwards, tournaments followed the new rules released by the USGA and The R&A which were designed to simplify the rule book and speed up the pace of play. The most noticeable changes included golfers being able to putt on the green with the flag remaining in, and drops being made from knee rather than shoulder height. Planned changes for 2020 Rule changes In order to combat slow play, from the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship onwards, regulations were introduced whereby a player would receive a one-stroke penalty for two bad times during a tournament. Bernd Wiesberger
Bernd Klaus Wiesberger (; born 8 October 1985) is an Austrian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and formerly on the LIV Golf League. He finished the 2019 European Tour season in third place on the Race to Dubai standings, his best finish to date. In July 2015, when he won the Alstom Open de France, Wiesberger became the most successful Austrian golfer on the European Tour with three tour victories. He has since extended his record and is an eight-time winner on the European Tour. He also played in the 2021 Ryder Cup. Amateur career Wiesberger was born in Vienna. Rasmus Højgaard (born 12 March 2001) is a Danish professional golfer who won his first European Tour event at the 2019 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, becoming the third youngest player to win on the European Tour. Amateur career Højgaard first came to prominence in July 2016 when he won the Danish International Amateur Championship, was part of the Danish team that finished third in the European Boys' Team Championship and won the McGregor Trophy in successive weeks. The 2021 European Tour was the 50th season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972. Changes for 2021 Following a heavily disrupted 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a new look to the calendar announced in December 2020, with tournaments being scheduled in groups based on location. Thriston Lawrence (born 3 December 1996) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour, European Tour and the Sunshine Tour. He has won four times on the European Tour. Professional career Lawrence turned professional in 2014. He played on the MENA Tour in 2015 and the Challenge Tour in 2016. He won the MENA Tour Order of Merit in 2015. He played on the Big Easy Tour in 2018, gaining his card for the 2019–20 Sunshine Tour season. He won his first Sunshine Tour event in 2019 at the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Stellenbosch. The 2022 European Tour, titled as the 2022 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 51st season of the European Tour, the main professional golf tour in Europe since its inaugural season in 1972. DP World title sponsorship In November 2021, it was announced that the tour had signed a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, being renamed as the DP World Tour. The agreement was reported to be worth over 10 years. Alexander Karl Mikael Björk (born 7 June 1990) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and PGA Tour. Ludvig Noa Åberg (born 31 October 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and European Tour. Before turning professional in June 2023, Åberg had been ranked number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for a total of 29 weeks. He finished on top of the 2022–23 PGA Tour University rankings to earn membership on the tour.
