Oman Fed Cup Team
The Oman Fed Cup team represent Oman in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Oman Tennis Association. They have not competed since 2018. History Oman competed in its first Fed Cup in 2011. Their best result have been the Asia / Oceania Group II 7th-8th Playoffs. 2011 Fed Cup
The 2011 Fed Cup (also known as the 2011 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas for sponsorship purposes) was the 49th edition of the tournament between national teams in women's tennis. The final took place at the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia, on 5–6 November. Czech Republic defeated the home team, Russia, to win their sixth title and first as an independent nation. World Group Draw World Group play-offs The four losing teams in the World Group first round ties (Australia, France, Slovakia and United States), and four winners of the World Group II ties (Spain, Germany, Serbia and Ukraine) entered the draw for the World Group Play-offs. Fatma Al Nabhani
Fatma Al-Nabhani ( ar, فاطمة النبهاني; born 20 May 1991) is an Omani tennis player. She has won ten singles titles and fourteen doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 4 October 2010, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 362. On 28 April 2014, she peaked at No. 238 in the doubles rankings. Al-Nabhani made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2009 Dubai Tennis Championships, having received a wildcard with Magali de Lattre in the doubles tournament, but they lost to Chan Yung-jan and Sun Tiantian in the first round. Playing for Oman in Fed Cup competitions, Al Nabhani has a win–loss record of 13–7. Al-Nabhani is the younger sister of Mohammed Al-Nabhani, who is also a tennis player. The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. The Billie Jean King Cup is the world's largest annual women's international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete. The current Chairperson is Katrina Adams. The Czech Republic dominated the BJK Cup in the 2010s, winning six of ten competitions in the decade. 2018 Fed Cup
The 2018 Fed Cup was the 56th edition of the most important tournament between national teams in women's tennis. The 2018 Fed Cup was expected to feature some structural changes, including a 16-team World Group and the introduction of a Final Four event at a neutral, predetermined location. However, the ITF announced shortly before their annual meeting that they were tabling a vote on the changes for at least one year. In one of the biggest shocks in the tournament history, Russia was demoted to the Zonal Groups for the first time in two decades, after consecutive losses to Slovakia and Latvia.
