Carrie Olver (born 1967) is a Canadian TV personality. Olver is a native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She grew up in Toronto, where her father, broadcaster Fergie Olver, worked at CFTO-TV for two decades on Toronto Blue Jays telecasts and also co-hosted the game show ''Just Like Mom''. Olver began her career in 1990 on Canadian home shopping channels. She then began working for the American Home Shopping Network, where she appeared for more than 2000 hours. Beginning in 1998, she hosted ''Spectacular Spas'', a half-hour travel program to some of the world's top spas. Darin Olver
Darin Olver (born March 5, 1985) is a Canadian-born German professional ice hockey left winger. He is currently playing for Schwenninger Wild Wings of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career Olver played high school hockey at Eastview High School under head coach Mike Gibbons. Highly recruited out of Canada, he helped his high school team reach the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament in 2001. Olver played college hockey at Northern Michigan University and was a second round, 36th overall, NHL draft pick of the New York Rangers. Upon graduating from his collegiate career, Olver joined the Rangers American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack, on an amateur try-out to end the 2006–07 season. Fergie Olver is a Canadian former game show host and sportscaster. He is best known for co-hosting the 1980s children's game show ''Just Like Mom'' with his wife Catherine Swing, and his work as a broadcaster and dugout reporter for the Toronto Blue Jays. Olver's daughter, Carrie Olver, is known for her work on shopping channels and The Weather Network. Ian Olver AM (born 10 May 1953) is an Australian medical oncologist, cancer researcher and bio-ethicist. He is a former chief executive officer of Cancer Council Australia and a noted authority and media commentator on cancer issues. In 2011 he was appointed to the Order of Australia for service to medical oncology as a clinician, researcher, administrator and mentor, and to the community through leadership roles with cancer control organisations. John Walter Olver (born September 3, 1936) is an American politician who was the U.S. representative for Massachusetts's 1st congressional district from 1991 to 2013. Raised on a farm in Pennsylvania, Olver graduated from college at the age of 18 and went on to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and later taught chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for eight years. John Olver (born August 3, 1958) is a Canadian ice hockey player and coach known for his league championship teams in the West Coast Hockey League and ECHL. Personal life His eldest son Darin Olver played at Northern Michigan University while he coached there. Darin now plays for the ERC Ingolstadt of the DEL. Darin was drafted 36th overall in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. His younger son, Mark Olver, also played hockey at Northern Michigan and most recently plays for Eisbären Berlin in Germany. Christopher John Olver (born in Manchester, England) is an English former rugby union hooker who played for England, Northampton Saints and Harlequins. Olver was known for his aggressive style of play and holds the somewhat undesirable record for spending the most number of minutes on the England substitutes bench. Mark Olver (born January 1, 1988) is a Canadian-German professional ice hockey centre currently playing under contract to Kölner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Wing Commander Peter Olver, DFC (4 April 191714 February 2013) was a British World War II Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Supermarine Spitfire fighter ace. Biography Olver was born in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. He trained as a pilot after joining the RAF Volunteer Reserve and joined No. 611 Squadron RAF in September 1940 as a Pilot Officer. He then joined No. 603 Squadron RAF based at RAF Hornchurch. On 25 October 1940 he bailed out of his Spitfire II P7309 near Brede, Sussex on his first sortie after being attacked by a Messerschmitt Bf 109 and was injured on landing.
