Aliza Olmert
Aliza Olmert (; Richter; born 1946) is an Israeli artist, photographer, author and social worker. She is married to former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Biography Aliza Olmert was born in a displaced persons camp in Eschwege, Germany. Her parents were Holocaust survivors from Łódź, Poland. She immigrated to Israel with her family in 1949, grew up in Ramat Gan, and served as an instructor in the Israel Defense Forces. She met her husband, Ehud Olmert, at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she was studying social work. The Olmerts live in Jerusalem's Katamon neighborhood. They have five children (including Dana Olmert, Dana and Shaul Olmert), one of them adopted. Dana Olmert
Dana Olmert (; born 26 December 1972), is an Israeli left wing activist, literary theorist and editor. She is a daughter of Israel's former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Olmert graduated with a PhD in literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on "''The Growth of Hebrew Poetry by Women During the Twenties: Psychoanalytical and Feminist Perspectives''." She teaches literature at Tel Aviv University and lately teaches creative writing workshops. She is the editor of a poetry series and was invited to several juries of literary prizes. She volunteered for Machsom Watch. In June 2006, she attended a march in Tel Aviv protesting alleged Israeli complicity in the Gaza beach blast which made her the subject of criticism from right-wing personalities. Ehud Olmert (; , ; born 30 September 1945) is an Israeli politician and lawyer who served as the prime minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009. The son of a former Herut politician, Olmert was first elected to the Knesset for Likud in 1973, at the age of 28. Olmert served as a minister without portfolio from 1988 to 1990, and as Ministry of Health (Israel), Minister of Health from 1990 until 1992. In 1993, he was elected Mayor of Jerusalem. Mordechai Olmert
Mordechai Olmert (; 16 January 1908 – 30 March 1998) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Herut between 1955 and 1961. He was also the father of Ehud Olmert, who served as Prime Minister between 2006 and 2009. Life and career Born in Buguruslan in the Russian Empire, Olmert's family moved to Harbin in China in 1919. He studied at a local polytechnic, and was amongst the founders of the Jewish Students Organisation and the local branch of Betar. During this time he met Bella Wagman, who he later married. Between 1931 and 1933 he taught Russian at a Chinese high school, before making aliyah to Mandatory Palestine in 1933. He joined the Betar work group in Hadera, and worked as an agricultural labourer until 1939. He was amongst the founders of the Irgun, as well as the Jabotinsky neighbourhood in Binyamina in 1946.
